Publisher's summary
The year is 1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager coming of age in a small industrial town in Western New York, is about as far from the seismic cultural transformations rocking campuses and city streets across America as a person can get. Emma escapes the chaos of her dysfunctional family by dialing up random numbers on the phone in her bedroom, just to see who'll answer.
But when a fateful call connects her to a mysterious band of proto-hackers calling themselves "Phone Phreaks", the revolution comes home, changing Emma's life for good. Because, Bell Telephone, the world's biggest corporation, is not amused that a handful of teenagers suddenly have the power to seize control of its vast and lucrative network and bend it to their will.
Bringing down the Phreaks is the corporate Goliath's number one priority, but for Bell Security agent Bill Connolly, the crusade becomes personal as he struggles to outwit and outmaneuver an adversary that seems always one step ahead of him.
Phreaks is the story of a fracturing family struggling to redefine itself as the world changes rapidly around it. Set at the dawn of the information age, its characters struggle with the same issues that define us today: privacy and surveillance, misuse of personal data, the ownership of ideas, our century-long obsession with the telephone, and the thirst for community that's driven us, since the dawn of time, to seek out new ways to "reach out and touch someone".
Full voice cast includes: Ben McKenzie, Carrie Coon, Christian Slater, Justice Smith, Bree Klauser, Ashley Williams, Esau Pritchett, Arielle Goldman, Danny Mastrogiorgio, Alejandro Hernandez, Daniel Kim, Dave Ahdoot, Rachel Kenney, Chris Roberti, and Katie Hartman.
Written by Matthew Derby.
Directed by Shaina Feinberg.
Executive produced by Morgan Jones.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... We hope your new audio bible will go everywhere with you and be a blessing for years to come.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Imagine a 1980s world of sumptuous hotel rooms, restaurants, New York City penthouses, and the powerful men who move easily between these pinnacles of luxury. They are music producers, rock stars, writers, and restaurateurs. They are household names like Billy Joel, Art Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and Sting. And yet, each man has an entire aspect to his life that he doesn’t talk about publicly—his depression, his rocky marriage, his feelings of shame and failure, his private loss of faith. And now: The phone rings. Imagine the woman who has each of these men at her beck and call.

I really enjoyed this Audible Original. It has witty banter, and is fast paced. The way it shows you the characters from every angle is very thought provoking. I will recommend it to my friends, and most likely listen to it multiple times.

Great audio book
I really enjoyed it, it was free so didn’t go into it with much expectations; however would have delighted with it if had spent money on it.
Story was great, good humor sprinkled in here and there to make it quite enjoyable; Christian, Ben, Carrie, were all fantastic... and Bree too did a great job. Just finished listened to it while doing house work, but will listen to it again to fully enjoy it. Really like Bree’s voice and funny at times when hearing a “familiar” voice like Christian’s. Not that I know him or anything, but have seen him in many films.. kind of like having a friend in the room - if not sounding too weird. Very good at recognizing voices - I was stunned Carrie was in Infinity War and I didn’t recognize her voice; saw that movie a fair few times.
Great cast, story, all around excellent production - very happy with it. Ben and Justice I just don’t know well enough voice wise to pick out, but thought everyone did a great job! Heard some audiobooks where the narrator seems like their just reading a page with no feeling behind it monotoned like a robot. Not this one, production was tight, actors made it feel real which is everything you want in an audio book/play... whatever you’d call this.
All in all would highly recommend!

fun peak into the past.
specific references to things and times was fascinating, despite this being before I was born, I still felt connected to the time.

Clever, clever and interesting!!
This one of king book was so out of the ordinary that I had to listen to it..... I'm so glad I did!! The story was interesting, original and educational. The performers were top notch. I will definitely recommend this book and listen to it all over again!
