Defection. Once it starts, the flood gates open as Imperial troops sent to the Frontier to die for the Emperor suddenly see a chance to survive by hopping across the border into the Green Empire. The mass civilian exodus was bad enough, but when the Emperor's own fleet starts doing so in alarming numbers only a bit of trickery on the part of the Emperor is going to lead to victory before he loses too many ships to the growing sanctuary of sanity that is the Green Empire.

The invasion of the Milky Way has begun, and the Empire is winning easily, but when it becomes clear that the war with the Asferja will be nowhere near ending before the next invasion arrives and forces them to split their focus, Paul is tapped to lead a small team to the nearby galaxy of Andromeda where the Asferja intergalactic "threads" are tethered, with more being created as the war goes on.

The universe is not predictable, no matter how much experience you gain. You may delude yourself into thinking so...until the universe educates you otherwise in dramatic fashion.

With resources flowing out of the Vitri annex of the Green Empire, the damage done in former High Admiral Duon's domain starts to be rebuilt at an accelerated rate, but the small fleet Aatroxiss has to work with isn't ready to tackle the advanced ships of the Hand of Independence in large scale warfare. But when two disobedient Captains create an incident, it threatens to wreck the stable balance between the Yellow Empire and the Green Empire in the minds of the Imperial population, and Aatroxiss will be forced to enter the Separatist War far sooner than planned.

Star Force is beyond frustrated by the continuing Vargemma attacks, but until a trailblazer or other Essence wielder can find a way to reach the Paladin, the portals will remained closed to the outside and the enemy will continue to be able to strike the empire with impunity.

Taking on an Apprentice was not in Aatroxiss's plans, but the universe doesn't have a cinematic mode and he has to swing with the punches while the galaxy around the Green Empire falls further and further into war. Hundreds of thousands of starships are being destroyed in the process, but the Rim Consortium is holding firm while the Imperial Sentinels are mysteriously kept on the sidelines.

The Jaegers are pushing deep into Star Force territory on an exploratory mission, bypassing the V'kit'no'sat Grand Border. The only question is, how far will they get before the might of the Empire whittles down their planet-sized Baseship to the point where they can destroy it.

Beginning his 2000+ year life as a teenage founder of the Star Force military, Paul-024 has been on the front lines throughout the growth of Earth's planetary defense force from inception through both the Skarron and lizard wars. Then when the V'kit'no'sat returned and began annihilating Earth's interstellar empire starting with its capitol, Paul was there fighting a stalling retreat while Star Force evacuated as many people as possible, losing system after system as they were pushed further out into the galactic rim.

The Origin Series is empire building at its finest, with 100 episodes and over 2.5 million words in the military science fiction serial detailing the rise of Star Force from corporate entity into an interstellar empire over the course of more than a millennium. Follow a core group of characters known as the Trailblazers as they use alien technology and knowledge discovered in Antarctic ruins to obtain limited immortality and lead humanity out into the galaxy.

The fracturing of the V'kit'no'sat Empire has now come to fruition, but the full-fledged civil war has not resulted. With the depth of experience and knowledge the dinosaur races have accumulated over the millennia, they know the destructive cost that such devastation would bring, and a conservative warfare methodology breaks out wherein the fighting is over territory while trying to spare lives and as much equipment as possible, so not to weaken the overall empire.

Follow a core group of characters known as the Trailblazers, as they use alien technology and knowledge discovered in Antarctic ruins, to obtain limited immortality, and lead Humanity out into the galaxy, encountering, befriending, and fighting, hundreds of alien races, all the while desperately trying to prepare Earth for the unbeatable threat at the core of the Milky Way that is destined to return, and reclaim their lost colony - and their former human slaves.

Back in print after a decade is Wild Cards III: Jokers Wild, featuring fiction by George R. R. Martin, Roger Zelazny, Walter Jon Williams, and others. On September 15, 1946, the Wild Card virus was released, spreading a wave of mutations around the globe. "Aces" were endowed with extraordinary...

While the planet Naugh is under siege, more invasions start popping up across Frontier worlds. Alien fleets led by phantom Imperial warships that are not supposed to exist. Caught between time, a lack of supplies, badly trained troops, and numerous foes, Grand Admiral Aatroxiss is pressed to his limits to free Naugh and bring back some semblance of order to the Frontier.

In another galaxy, far, far away from Earth, an evil Empire controls 3/4ths of the star systems and yearns for more. Those regions not under their control have either traded obedience for their sovereignty, are too wild to tame, or too dangerous for Imperial troops to tread upon. The main thorn in the Emperor's side is the Frontier, which occupies a third of the lawless and barbaric Outer Rim. Countless commanders and fleets have been sent to pacify and annex it into the Empire. All have failed.

The Emperor's daughters are coming to the Frontier... with an illegally seized warfleet for unknown purposes. They are raiding for supplies, or receiving them from sympathizers as they cut a path across the Empire encouraging all who will listen to rise up and overthrow their father.

The insectoid alien race known as the Vitri have invaded the Imperial world of Naugh in retribution for the deal broken by Grand Admiral Aatroxiss. Doing the right thing has consequences, and by saving the Turook he has doomed another world to slaughter if the Empire can't take it back in time. Aatroxiss and his flagship, the Redemption, arrive to meet up with the Imperial forces already engaged in battle, but what the Emperor's sole Grand Admiral finds there is far more than expected.

With the demise of the Gangi Dynasty, galactic politics are fracturing. The Emperor is restructuring his efforts to unite the people around his singular rule while the opposition looks for alternative options. Many of those are turning to the Green Empire and Grand Admiral Aatroxiss's new seat of power on Prime, but behind the buzz between these two polar opposites another hand is at work...and about to reveal itself to the galaxy in dramatic fashion.
