Admiral Robert O’Hara once commanded the Lunar Free State’s fleet, but he’s finding that leading the nation as Chief Executive requires different skills, as well as an entirely different mindset. The confrontation between the LFS and the Confederated Nations of Earth continues, but now it includes a race to build colonies on Xanadu, a competition that has strained Luna’s financial resources to the limit.

For Lorna Greenwood, this will be a trial by fire—her first mission with her own command, the Predator-class destroyer LFS Lynx. She’s looking to get some payback for her last trip there eight years ago, which didn’t end well.

What do you do when one of your deep space survey ships discovers a fertile, Earth-like planet that isn’t currently occupied by humans or any other intelligent species? If you’re the Lunar Free State, you make plans to put a colony there—and try to keep it secret so the Confederated Nations of Earth don’t do the same. Unfortunately, though, the secret gets out, and the CNE scrambles to launch their own colony project, starting a race by both nations to make their claim to the planet.

The alien race Akara have a secret; they've discovered the location of a planet that is home to a primitive human civilization, another ancient “seeding" of the legendary Progenitors. But, this planet lies in the territory of the Otuka, spacefaring alien predators who consider human flesh to be a delicacy and the planet to be their private hunting preserve. Unwilling to confront the Otuka, the Akara have passed the problem on to their human allies, the Lunar Free State. Now, the LFS needs to decide what to do about it.

The Confederated Nations of Earth and the Lunar Free State have fought each other for decades in the Sol system and out among the stars. They’ve never had an open declaration of war, but there have been battles in space at Odin, Sacagawea, and Rothstein’s star. Lunar Marines have clashed with Confed Peacekeepers on Ragnarok and Xanadu. When the British battlecruiser Prince of Wales suddenly shows up at Ragnarok, the LFS and CNE realize there’s a new player in the game.

“War” is a dirty word on Ragnarok. For the past hundred years, the planet’s human inhabitants have been trying to rebuild their civilization after a self-inflicted nuclear holocaust. The event—which they call the “Great Destruction”—was so traumatic they’ve destroyed all the records and refuse to talk about it, other than to swear it will never ever happen again. At least, that’s what they tell the Lunar Free State’s contact team.

On-the-job training can be hazardous to your health...Lorna Greenwood hopes the Lunar Free State’s Fleet Academy will prepare her to follow in her grandmother’s legendary footsteps. Her roommate Nova Sakura has already spent time in the LFS Marines and wants to move up to the officer ranks. First, though, they have to survive four years of training. Military service gets real for Lorna when the assault carrier Omaha Beach comes under fire during her first year training cruise.

It’s been ten years since the Lunar Free State established itself on Earth’s moon. Since then, other Earth nations have pushed into space, but - thanks to the advantages provided by its gravity-driven spacecraft - the LFS has continued to prosper. When the research ship LFS Stephen Hawking encounters an alien probe near Saturn, though, the craft leads Hawking on a chase before vanishing into hyperspace. Now the Lunar Free State must face two facts: The humans of Earth are not the only intelligent life in the universe, and travel to other star systems is possible.

When the Krygians, a soulless insectile alien race, attack a Floritineian goodwill convoy, annihilating their fleet and stealing the precious cargo, the U.S. Space Navy reaches out to the one person who can do the impossible: Captain Galvin Quintos. Tasked with the covert 'Quansport Ops' mission aboard USS Ike, a far smaller Corvette-class warship than he’s used to, Quintos must navigate treacherous alliances and cutting-edge tech to reclaim a warship that cannot be allowed to be in enemy hands—Oblivion.

Relations between the Lunar Free State and the nations of Earth continue to deteriorate, with Earth’s power brokers seeking ways to test the readiness of Luna’s fleet, bringing the nations to the brink of open war.

Thankfully, Eli has some new powers of his own, which he’ll need to defeat the many psychos, assassins, and monsters crossing his path.

The Association has finally become aware of Eli's presence in the sequestered world of Lurra, with one of his recently resurrected enemies tasked by Lady Peja to hunt him down. At the same time, the Remnant's invasion of the Pantheon Alliance continues while the temple families and others in Galdish scheme to send Eli beyond life's veil to answer for his blasphemous crimes.

Nonetheless, Lorna is proud of her and is determined to whip her green crew into shape for the mission ahead.

Kansas City attorney Josephina Jillian Jones, 3J to her friends, has dealt with people perpetrating online disinformation, white supremacists, and clients hiding assets, so when a couple who heads up a company that builds inner city housing for marginalized communities comes to her for legal help because their longtime banking partner has shut off their funding, the case appears at first blush to be tame by comparison. But when the bank president disappears and his greed-driven brother seems the likely culprit, things heat up.

Eli continues his adventures in Lurra, lost once again after Fluxi's gateway dropped him in the middle of some unknown settlement, far from his friends. At the same time, the Association has begun to step out from the shadows, revealing their horrifying intentions for this world as they manipulate the Remnant's forces into launching a fresh invasion on the Pantheon Alliance.
