SnowAngel Foundation proponents Chauncey & Kelli Johnson lost their 5-year old daughter Elise due to a colliding snowboarder on Christmas Eve 2010. The snowboarder also died and Kelli suffered a Traumatic Brain injury, among other life altering injuries. As of 2024, Kelli is mostly recovered from the ordeal. To honor their daughter the Johnson's started the SnowAngel Foundation and a program titled "Ride Another Day" to encourage on-mountain safety. Pitching legend John Smoltz played 22 MLB seasons, 21 with the Atlanta Braves. He was a 1995 World Series champion and the 1996 Cy Young Award winner. In 2001, after Tommy John surgery, he became a reliever for four years. Smoltz is only the 2nd pitcher in history to have a 20 win season and a 50 saves season.
