Los caídos narra la descomposición moral y el distanciamiento radical entre los miembros de una familia cubana que aún comparte el mismo hogar. La corrupción espiritual de un país inmerso en el hambre y la privación actúa como detonante, aquello que lleva al padre comunista, a la madre gravemente enferma, a la hija resignada y al hijo resentido a convertirse en enemigos irreconocibles, aunque ninguno de ellos entienda realmente cómo y por qué todo aquello ha sucedido.
