The Blue Fairy Book by Andrew Lang is the first in a series of fairy tale compilation books. These fairy tales cover a variety of cultures and stories, including several from the Brothers Grimm and Arabian Nights stories. This is a great collection for any listener looking for nearly 40 different stories in one book. Lang includes classic tales such as "Cinderella" and more uncommon adventures, including "The Story of Prince Ahmed and the Fairy Paribanou".

Published in 1651, Leviathan is considered to be one of the most important works of political philosophy and a major contribution to the modern idea of central government. In the mid-17th century, England was going through a turbulent time of change and unrest, which likely shaped Hobbes' ideas on strong government. Thomas Hobbes established the social contract theory. Two Years Before the Mast is an American classic published in 1840. This is the account of Richard Henry Dana’s two-year adventure as a sailor. Throughout his time sailing around Cape Horn on the brig Pilgrim, Dana kept a diary, and on his return to Massachusetts, he wrote this now-loved classic. While attending Harvard College, Dana was stricken with measles, which would ultimately have a detrimental effect on his eyesight.

Nowadays, it would not seem an insurmountable task to make it around the world in 80 days. Yet, when Jules Verne published this novel in 1873, this was a phenomenon that many doubted was remotely possible. We are at first introduced to Phileas Fogg, who lives in London and has just fired his valet for silly reasons. Fogg then hires Jean Passepartout who, at the time of hire, has no idea of the adventure that his new boss will take him on. Fogg learns that it is now possible to travel around the world - starting and ending up in London - in only 80 days.

Family tensions run high as families blend together in Mansfield Park. There are many families with secrets to hide, and the Mansfield family is no different. Fanny Price is sent to live with her power hungry and wealthy aunt and uncle, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram. There, Fanny doesn't get along well with her three eldest cousins, but she has a special affinity to the youngest one, Edmund, who is studying to be a clergyman. When Sir Thomas has to leave on business, Henry and Mary Crawford, the local minister's wife’s siblings, come to stay with them and things begin to get racy!
