La historia trata de un joven piloto que tras estrellarse en su avión en medio del desierto se encuentra por azares del destino con un extraño y misterioso personaje: el principito, único habitante del asteroide B-612 que dejó su hogar para ir en busca de nuevas aventuras. Durante varios días, mientras el piloto trata de arreglar su avión a marchas forzadas debido a que se le termina la comida conoce las insólitas historias del singular jovencito.
