"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and first published in Colliers magazine on May 27, 1922. It was subsequently anthologized in his book Tales of the Jazz Age, which is occasionally published as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories.

Carlyle tells her of his upbringing as poor white trash in a Tennessee town, and his rise to become a successful musician - but one who has never been able to dance with the aristocracy. Until that is, the beautiful, spoiled-rotten Ardita falls in love with him, as much as she is capable of falling in love with anyone other than herself, on the deserted tropical island.

At the urging of his darling Ms. Harmon, Talbot finds himself on a Christmas Eve mission to give away all the money in his pockets. Not quite as easy to do as one might think, Talbot soon realizes, as his generosity is rebuffed with scorn and a punch in the nose. The wry, touching ending is filled with charity and optimism as Talbot returns home sans money, but with two new acquaintances.

May Day - one of the stories, which entered in a collection of eleven short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald Tales of the Jazz Age (1922). Published as a novelette in The Smart Set in July, 1920, May Day relates a series of events which took place in the spring of the previous year, during the "general hysteria" which inaugurated the Jazz Age. The story uses the May Day Riots of 1919 as historical backdrop. During these events, as the lower-class is fighting for certain causes, a group of privileged Yale alumni meet for a dance.
