First published in 1915, The Voyage Out marked the literary debut of one of the great pioneers of the modern novel. The main character, Harmachis (the living descendant of this bloodline), is charged by the priesthood with overthrowing the supposed impostor - Cleopatra - driving out the Romans, and restoring Egypt to its golden era.
