    When I started on my awakening journey I actually didn't even know that all the things I was experiencing was all part of the process.

    I didn't even know that the terms awakening or spiritual awakening were even a thing. Yet I was going through it and there was no stopping it.

    Everyone's awakening experiences is unique to them, like your fingerprints, however, being on this journey for almost 8 years now and after reflecting back and listening to the stories of others there are certain things that happen and certain things that you cannot avoid.

    Have you ever felt a growing sense of irritation, agitation, stress, anxiety and maybe even panic as you go through your day even though everything is going fairly well in your life?

    This can happen when you come to a crossroad in your life and have to make a choice that will completely change your life and put you on a whole new timeline.

    This crossroad could mean a change in physical location, a change in career. You may have ended a long term relationship, or closed a business, or something else, but the decision you have to make or made was a difficult one and now there is uncertainty because you are in that transition phase between what was and what is to come.

    When we find ourselves at this crossroad, from a spiritual perspective and in my opinion, it means that everything that you were meant to experience or learn from this chapter of your life is complete and that your soul is ready to close that chapter and move on to the next experience.

    And if you were to tune into how you were feeling or are feeling about things in your life, like a career or business or relationship, your intuition and your body was or is alerting you of this in some way.

    But not all big life changes are met with so much uncertainty that it causes anxiety about how things will be. Sometimes you can see it as life’s next big adventure which is probably a healthier way to embrace life’s changes but that’s not always the case.

    Big life changes can create a lot of stress not only because, well, they are life changes but also because they force you to become a newer version of yourself which usually means, changing some of the beliefs you have about yourself, creating new healthier habits and routines and becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable as you navigate the new terrain, so to speak, and wait for your nervous system to catch up. Because even though you know life is calling you forward, your nervous system still needs time to catch up with you and all of the changes.

    This can go quickly or it can take time but eventually if the new path that you have chosen is in alignment with your highest good, you will settle into a new peaceful state and if it’s not, trust that a new path will present itself.     It's not uncommon to become so emotionally overwhelmed when you know you need to make a choice that will change the life path you are one.

    Thoughts run wild as you navigate the the options and which way to go.

    There is a lot of underlying fear in the form of questions;
    • how will I take care of myself?
    • how will I support myself?
    • where will I go?
    • I don't want to be alone?
    • what if I am homeless?
    • what if I lose everything?

    At this point it's creates a lot of emotional overwhelm and we just want to shut down and we reach for our 'go to distraction:

    * alcohol
    * drugs
    * food
    * retail therapy

    None of which helps you make the decision that is right for you.

    In fact it makes it worse. In this video I share a very short and simple way to calm yourself.

    When you are able to be calm fear doesn't have such a tight grip on you and you are able to take leaps of faith, trusting that you'll have what you need and you will heal.
