Missing is a true crime podcast that tells stories of missing people, homicides, and injustices. Whether it’s psychological, socioeconomic, or something deeper that plays a part in a person’s disappearance, Missing does not shy away. I like listening to stories about people who go missing not just in hopes that maybe there could be clues that might lead to them being found (one way or another, hopefully safe), but just because it's intriguing on sociological and psychological levels as to the whys and hows. This podcast gives you none of that. It's just hosts that like to listen to themselves talk and who get in the way of the actual story which is those poor souls who have gone missing. Yes, they'll bring in experts and family members and friends and none of that is at all necessary or kind. You can interview the families and friends for a few short minutes to help with the reassurance for them that the story of their loved ones is being heard, but the "roundtables" and back-and-forth questions are just wrong. A good podcast is one where just one host tells the story of the missing person along with what is known. There should be no interruptions (no "ooooh yeah, that's interesting" or "uhhh...what?!) comments from the peanut gallery. They should be on mute. This podcast, unfortunately, is like listening to TMZ cover missing persons.
