Imagine having your life dedicated to global adventure and exploration through the lens of the camera. Now imagine falling off a tall stone wall in Italy, badly fracturing your body. What do you do now?

For David DuChemin, it was years of rehab and pain. He pivoted his work towards more on-line courses and sales and he continued leading photographic tours. But eventually the pain was just too much and he decided to have his leg amputated.

David shares how the amputation has paradoxically made him feel more 'abled' than he ever was before. He now engages in activities he once thought impossible, from hiking to running through airports with camera gear in tow. His perspective on disability is refreshing; he believes that labels can limit our potential and that embracing challenges can lead to greater creativity and fulfillment.

My first interview with David can be found here. It focuses on his injury and recovery and lays the groundwork for this extraordinary conversation.

Come, be inspired, as David shares that "disability" is just a word, not his reality.

Have you ever felt unseen when you were growing up? That no one really listened or understood?

I suspect this feeling is nearly universal, but for some young people, facing poverty and family difficulties, the need to connect is keen.

Enter Carlamay. She started off in Nashville, pursuing a love of music. And from there to Calgary where oil and gas were booming. But something was missing. Until she went into law enforcement.

She worked in areas such as domestic violence, child abuse, and as a school resource officer, where she had the opportunity to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds. Carla's unique approach to policing was rooted in her understanding that every individual has a story, and it's essential to listen and engage with them on a human level.

Carlamay's book "Youth Truth" is deeply moving, as is her story. Come listen in.

Stephanie MoDavis has been battling with autoimmune issues since she was just 19 years old. Multiple medications, doctors and chemotherapy drugs all failed her. Until she discovered the profound impact of self-reflection, emotional intelligence, and spiritual connections.

Today, Stephanie blends evidence-based natural wellness with deep spiritual practice, offering a path that honors both the body's wisdom and the soul's journey. Her awakening—beginning in 2006 and deepening in 2015—revealed that true healing transcends physical illness, embracing the alchemy of mental shadows and the courage to face fear and unconscious patterns.

Walking between Eastern wisdom and Western practice, she champions holistic care that honors illness as a messenger of deeper truth, not brokenness. As cofounder of Awakening Healthcare, Stephanie pioneers the "subjective experiencer" model, reshaping healthcare narratives to empower the human spirit and foster renewal.

This is a story for all of us. If you've experienced chronic illness, Stephanie's words will resonate deeply. And if you haven't, Stephanie will leave you with much to think about and to share.

How does one mourn a beloved pet?

I know for me, the turning point on my grief was when I could honestly look at all a pet gave me, rather than what I lost. But to this day, I still tear up at the loss of my animals. And I suspect I'm not alone.

Jean Alfieri is a grief coach specializing pet loss. Grief, she explains, is not a linear process; rather, it evolves over time, much like a circle that grows and shrinks in relation to our lives.

In this podcast, Jean shares her journey of adopting senior dogs and the lessons learned through their inevitable passing. Her new book, "21 Ways to Weather the Loss of Your Pet," serves as a guide for those navigating the painful process of grieving.

How do we honor our pets? Process our grief? Share it?

Listen in to explore how these deep bonds can be kept alive, and let go, to help us find joy and healing in the midst of sorrow.

  • From The Farm: Knowing The Source of Your Food

A.J. Richards is on a mission. He has created From the Farm, a platform aimed at decentralizing the food supply chain and empowering family farms.

From the Farm is not just a business; it's a movement. It connects consumers directly with farmers and ranchers, eliminating unnecessary middlemen. This approach not only supports local agriculture but also provides consumers with the opportunity to know exactly where their food is coming from. A.J. emphasizes the importance of transparency and trust in the food industry, stating, "We want to cut out all the middlemen that are completely unnecessary."

AJ touches on the cost of raising clean meat and produce, versus the factory produced food we currently consume. He also emphasizes the importance of humane treatment of animals at slaughter. Stress hormones from the animals flows into the meat you consume! Instead he advocates for field harvesting, which minimizes stress for the animals and ultimately leads to better quality meat. This commitment to ethical practices is a core value of From the Farm, as they strive to support producers who prioritize animal welfare.

How can we transform our current industrial system to a healthier one? First is education. Understand the food supply chain so you can make informed choices. Then, gradual adoption. Start by sourcing just one item from a local producer. As your knowledge and awareness grows, you will move into ever healthier choices,

Clean food is a passion of mine and I hope this podcast resonates with you and makes you stop and think. How could you be making healthier choices?
