Jeff Nelligan is the father of three boys and a well-known commentator in the world of American parenting. His most recent work is the 2nd edition of Four Lessons from My Three Sons – How You Can Raise Resilient Kids, in which he outlines how his parenting techniques helped guide his sons through childhood and adolescence to the U.S. Naval Academy, Williams College, and West Point.

Jeff, known as "Nellie" has a parenting philosophy that is rooted in four cornerstones: personal courtesy, confidence, resilience in adversity, and ambition. He believes that these qualities are essential for children to navigate the complexities of modern life. As he points out, a staggering 75% of the time spent with children is over by the age of 12, making early engagement crucial for instilling these values.

How to do this when teens average nearly nine hours a day on digital devices and are experiencing rising mental health issues? According to Nelly, this electronic addiction that permeates our youth hampers the development of interpersonal skills and contributes to a generation struggling with civic and social virtues. This shows up in our workforce: Fifty eight percent of hiring managers reporting that recent graduates are not ready for the job market.

What are the practical and actionable tips for parents looking to steer their children through and around today's digital landscape? How do we integrate technology wisely into the world of our youth for their future success as people and as successful contributors to society?

Carol Remz is 80. And an outspoken spokesperson about women's sexuality as they age.

Back in the 1980's when she was experiencing perimenopause and menopause, discussions about women's health, intimacy, and aging were largely taboo and Carol was left to navigate her health challenges by herself. A serendipitous encounter with sea buckthorn, a plant known for its healing properties, transformed her experience.

Carol talks about the various preconceptions that often interfere with romantic relationships as we age and why we need to dispel them. Aging well, she notes, means working on personal acceptance.. Practicing that self acceptance, and all the changes that come with aging, is the first step to open the path to true intimacy.

Carol believes that true intimacy goes beyond physicality and is rooted in emotional connection and acceptance of one's vulnerabilities. To that end, she has written a book that aims to educate and empower women about their sexuality and health, providing the sex education many missed out on during their formative years. Not to mention their menapausal mid-life years!

Her message is clear: we are not defined by our age or circumstances but by love and acceptance.

Growing up, for Mark MacNicol, was a study in contrasts. His mother's side of the family lived in a rough neighborhood, his grandfather was a multimillionaire and a born-again Christian.

For Mark, this led to confusion until his late twenties when he decided to embrace his identity as a writer, channeling his experiences into novels and eventually transitioning into theater.

Using the theatre, Mark started the Creative Change Collective that combines drama therapy with therapeutic intent, aimed at individuals struggling with addiction and those in the justice system. His approach allows participants to explore their trauma through fictional characters, creating a safe space for self-reflection and growth.

In a society that often overlooks the therapeutic power of the arts, Mark's journey highlights the impact that creativity can have on mental health and emotional well-being. His work with the Creative Change Collective has touched the lives of thousands, proving that through storytelling and theater, we can forge connections, heal wounds, and inspire change.
