This was a start to what’s going to be a series, and I believe the next books coming out next month. This followed a mobster/biker/entrepreneur and a down on her luck, woman who came home with her tail between her legs. She goes out with her friends and end up at this gentleman’s club and the rest is history.
I gobbled this book up and laughed so much that my sides hurt. I love it when you’re Author can bring the heat as well as a laughter. There’s a lot of family in this book, and some unresolved issues in my opinion. There’s still some questions out there like what happened with her sister? what did the bad guy get picked up for in the end? what was in the folder that Ripley gave Officer Rose? Lastly, did Ripley ever decide to change his lifestyle? So many questions left unanswered, but that also leaves it open for future scenarios in the upcoming books.
Not only did I read, but listened as well. The narrators in the story were: Jack Calihan and J.Y. Kora and they did a decent job, I felt Jack sounded too old to be Ripley but I got used to it. In parts, it fit in with his dry sense of humor so it worked in the end.
All in all, a great reminder of the massive amount of fun. I have reading anything by this author. Her stories are also full of love, commitment, respect, and makes my heart warm from the inside out.
