Publisher's Summary

Life has been good to Paul Tremblay. He has a decent job, a beautiful girlfriend, and a devoted pal. It's just another average day for this average joe. That is, until he wakes up on a table in the morgue. Now, his heart doesn't beat, he doesn't breathe, and he keeps forgetting things like his own name. Desperate to get to his girlfriend, Linda, before it's too late, Paul sets off on a cross-country journey to Los Angeles.

It's a journey of discovery for Paul: who he was, what he is now, and just how far he's willing to go to get to Linda. Will Linda still love him even though he's joined the ranks of the undead? Can he still convince her to marry him? Only time will tell but he has to reach her before his time runs out.

Author Patricia Lee Macomber is the former Editor-in-Chief of ChiZine. She has been published in Cemetery Dance magazine and anthologies including Shadows over Baker Street, Little Red Riding Hood in the Big Bad City, and Dark Arts. I was ready to throttle Renfield.

This was a darn fine story, and the narrator did a superb job. If you are avoiding zombie stories because there's too much gore, than this is the story for you. Awesome.

Zombie twist

Somehow, Paul wakes up to find himself a zombie. His only goal in life is to get to his girlfriend so she knows how much he loves her. Along the way he accidently eats someone and realizes he has to eat flesh to stay lucid. It is a good story from the zombie's perspective.

Great story

I really enjoyed this story. It's a different take on the Zombie genre. Not scary, a little gore and violence, but not much.

Sweet Zombie Love Story

Paul wakes up in the morgue & realises he's dead. His only thought is to find his girlfriend the love of his love. He grabs his things and heads straight to his girlfriend's house but it will take him several days to get there by car. One night while he's trying to work out if he can actually sleep, his car get's highjacked with him in it. He pounces on the man and takes a huge bite out of his neck 'to defend himself'....and enjoys it a bit too much! He loved it so much he kept a snack for later.

I loved this story it's very funny, has great characters, is very well written and has great narration. I definitely would like to read more from this author and narrator in the future.

I was given this book for free of my own choosing and voluntarily left this review.
