Acerca de esta escucha
Because the way Zingerman's teaches services is different, better, and more successful than the way others do it.
Because while most customer-service audiobooks give you philosophy and theory, Zingerman's tells you exactly what to do and exactly how to do it.
Because one of Zingerman's founding partners, Ari Weinzweig, has distilled the most important facts about effective customer service into concise and snappy formulas that are easy for you and the people who work with you to remember and use.
Discover:
Do you really need another audiobook on customer service? Yes! But after you listen to this one, you won't.

There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

We live in a world that’s obsessed with talent. We celebrate gifted students in school, natural athletes in sports, and child prodigies in music. But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

It's an axiom of business that great companies grow their revenues and profits year after year. Yet quietly, under the radar, a small number of companies have rejected the pressure of endless growth to focus on more satisfying business goals. Goals like being great at what they do, creating a great place to work, providing great customer service, making great contributions to their communities, and finding great ways to lead their lives. In Small Giants, veteran journalist Bo Burlingham takes us deep inside 14 such remarkable companies.

"Silos" are organizations' vertical structures—but the word has become synonymous with barriers to workplace effectiveness and connotes deep political infighting. Silos devastate organizations, kill productivity, push good people out the door, and jeopardize the achievement of corporate goals. They cause stress, exasperation, and disappointment by forcing employees to fight bloody, unwinnable battles with people who should be teammates.

Great Philosophy and Entertaining Listen
If you could sum up Zingerman's Guide to Giving Great Service in three words, what would they be?
Simple Tasty Advice
What other book might you compare Zingerman's Guide to Giving Great Service to and why?
Legendary Service because they both thoroughly explain how simple and yet how difficult it is to implement good service company wide.

Thank you Ari for the inspiration and practical advice
Thank you Ari. This has definitely inspired me to serve my customers better. I love the lists, steps, and practical advice. I even like your calm tone of voice! I’ve never been to Zingerman’s but I’ll be there in three weeks. With a crew of personal training business owners. My mouth is already watering! Thank you for writing this book. BEST book on restaurant service
I’ve now listened to and read dozens and dozens on restaurant guest service. This is by far the best. The rest of the Zingerman’s series are great too. Not just his story, actually very little about his story and the rest is real, usable, step by step information. Do not miss this one.

ARI IS ALWAYS A JOY TO LISTEN TOO
While like most of Zingerman books there is nothing here that isn't basic hospitality sensibilities, sometimes we need someone to just remind us of the root meaning of hospitality. Ari is enjoyable to listen to as he never comes off as pompous or arrogant. No matter what industry you may be in, the simple lessons contained in this book will help realign you to being a leader that your team respects, trusts, and strives to make proud.

Worthwhile
I thought this was useful. It's nice to see how a small business overcame the odds and made a difference. Ari doesn't doesn't brag about how he's the equivelent of the second coming like so many other business books. He readily admits that Zingerman's doesn't meet all the ideals they aspire to reach, but you can hear the sincere desire to contiously strive to be the best he and his team can be. I was also surprized to learn just how he was able to grow a tiny deli into a whoel series of related food businesses with 500+ employees and $30M in sales - all while staying in Ann Arbor, MI.

Way boring
This might be of interest if you're a restauranteur looking for minor details about their staffing structure and the like. But for any general reader or Zingerman's fan, it's exceptionally boring - like a self-congratulatory press release.
