Story
The ethereal mists blurred Lucy Finnley’s vision, and the murmurings within the wind made her uneasy. However, she had no choice other than to leave the city and take up residence at the Jack Rabbit Inn on the high moor. At least she could escape the trouble brewing in the rest of the world. Down below, in the valley, lies Hawks Rise on the Moor. Here many secrets hide beneath the veil of respectability. Slipping back in time, Henry Mulberry, heir to Mulberry hall, views the moor through troubled eyes.

First, I'm going to say the sound effects are a pretty awesome touch!
Now for the story. Eve is stuck in a marriage going nowhere and turns to another man, Rubin. That gets interesting fast and both are dropped into the middle of a batte between good and evil. The story is fast paced, great descriptions and character building. Wixley never stops driving the plot. This is one that will keep you on the edge!

Great Series
Excellently written and performed, the book expands upon the story of the first book adding context to the events of the first whilst maintaining the dark and forbidding atmosphere.
Nigel Peever once again brings a story to life with his engaging reading. The characters are vivid in the listener's mind through his interpretation, and his calm and measured narration keeps the listener reassured.

Fast paced, creepy and has lots of twists
I think this is my favourite in the Witchfinder series so far, it is an enthralling battle of good vs evil. You are quickly pulled into a dark story of horror, demonic occurrences, ghosts, witchcraft, and destroyed lives. The story is fast paced, with great descriptions and the sound effects added into the narration really make the telling atmospheric. The characters are well development, and the authors evocative writing, paired with the distinctive narration really makes you feel their struggles and emotions. I especially became attached to Rubin and my heart broke for the mental and physical anguish he endured in this story. This book delves into aspects of good and evil, and the dark and light in human nature. It is creepy with lots of twists and it will stay with you long after the last disturbing page is done.

Good VS Evil #4
I enjoyed listening to this deep dark fantasy thriller with horror, witches, devil, and ghosts and is good versus evil. My favorite character was Rubin (grieving with loss of his infant son) then Eve, Kane, Poppy and the dogs. Enjoyed the ending and recommend if you enjoy deep fantasy. OMG this book is freaking awesome!
Let me to state clearly and for the record I absolutely love this book! If you have been reading the cross books you know the pretty freaking awesome this one is the best one! I couldn’t relax the further into the book it got from the very beginning to the very end it’s awesome that there is too much to describe I don’t know where Miss Wicksley gets her imagination from but she should thank God for the talent she has as it is awesome The different characters she comes up with who are absolutely original to their self or amazing to me. I was interested from the first page although I anxiously was waiting for this book I had no idea it was going to be this good! I think even if you didn’t read books 1,2 and 3 you will still enjoy this book and know what’s going on. The narrator is awesome the author is awesome this book is freaking awesome! I almost want to read it again and I think I will. I love that! If you like horror and witches set an a reality read this book

Enchanting series, A Must Read.
My Review of Zach’s Cross (How To Live Forever Audiobook) By E.M.G Wixley.
Zack’s Cross is the fourth book in this enchanting series. I really love how this story drags you into the magic, horror and demonic goings on from the start. The sound effects are amazing and if you close your eyes and listen you can see every scene play out as if you were a ghost listening in behind a wall. I also love the voice of the creepy doll it sends cold shivers whenever you hear it. I really hope there is going to be a fifth book because the cross series is by far my favourite, I’ve followed this year.
The story itself follows Eve as she come to terms with the many losses in her life by talking to the wise and cat loving Max. However, soon Eve finds herself nursing a man back to health, but between her hope of his recovery and her discovery of who he is, is there a darkness or a lighter soul bringing him back from the dead? However, will he live? Will Eve’s life be forever change from the sadness she feels? Will those battling between darkness and the light remain honest to themselves or will the demons and witches be too much to handle for any of them?
I found Ruben to be a very interesting character as his life spirals out of control after the death of his son. He struggles to keep a grip and drags those around him down the creepy dark hole of his emotions too. But I also think throughout this book you see many sides of him.
I also loved that Kane one of the keepers of light was having his own troubles throughout this book. He’s one of my favourite characters and can shape-shift, which makes him someone not to mess with. However, he also loves deeply and goes looking for Rose to save her from danger.
Author E.M.G Wixley does a great job with not only conveying the emotions of her many creepy, mysteries and wonderful characters, but also the world they live in and how damaging and scary that world is when dark forces overtake the light. This book makes you wonder can darkness ever be redeemable? Can light cover all sins?
I also love the blend between demonic and witchcraft and the power of that feeling inside that make one feels doomed like something bad will happen now or in the future. I thought this was beautifully shown through Eves’ dreams the plaque her adding to her sorrow.
I highly recommend this audiobook as well as all the books in the Cross series. They are creepy and enchanting to listen to and the characters will stay in your mind long after you’ve finished listening to this book. So why not turn down the lights, light a candle and step into a world full of creepy and supernatural surprises with this book.
