This was an excellent follow up to 'Z Chronicles,the Beginning'.We follow Laurie and Virginias story as they find new people to embrace and zombies to kill.Love comes and goes.David Loving was a terrific narrator.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

defintely in my favorites list

this one is definitely being added to my favorites list, and this is a hard feat to puill off as i can be a bit critical, but this story is just phenomenal!

Honest Review in Exchange for Promotional Copy

Alright, this story is getting interesting and I'm starting to like it a little bit more. At the end of the first book Lori and another survivor go on a supply run. They run into trouble and just her gets away. When Lori makes it back to the shelter where they've been staying, she noticed things are not right. Two of her friends dead, eaten by zombies, and her sister is missing. Lori, too, is attacked by zombies and bitten. Listener might think the first book had a crap ending but this is titled the Z Chronicles. Lori is rescued by a small group that was close by and is reunited with her sister Virginia. Surprisingly, but not too surprisingly, Lori does not succumb to her injuries and turn. She heals up without turning into a zombie but her wounds look odd. We're introduced to another group of survivors taking shelter at a high school in a town not too far away. We get a some background stories of the early days of the zombie outbreak. Lori and Virginia's new small group join up with the larger group. Lori starts to notice some change but tries to keep quiet about them. The zombie horde on the way they have to prepare for.
Not to give away too much in this summary and review but to see Lori become something more than human but still not zombie is exciting. Making this zombie saga a little different and interesting than some others. Look forward to continuing the Z Chronicles.

interesting story

I inadvertantly grabbed a second book in the series. Following the girls through their travels. The least group's timeline didn't seem to match up with the girls and it was a bit odd, but over all I liked the story line. The performer however was not my favorite.

The Surge

I began this series with "The Beginning", what I considered a Novella or Book 0.5. David Loving's voice initially caught me off guard. It was different, not at all bad, just unique. It seemed no time at all had passed, and I determined that Mr. White's pick for a narrator was spot on, a perfect fit for the series. No less of a surprise (to me at least) were the main characters, a unique choice for the genre. I found myself appreciating them more and more and thoroughly enjoyed their development as the story progressed. I very much recommend this one too.

Loved it

I was excited to continue the story to see what happened to the characters. I was saddened by some being lost, excited that others had made it and laughing at the sillness of others. I was so drawn in that I have to listen to the next in the series to find out what happens next. Great book.

I need book 3

I just finished this book, taking no time after the first to get into this story. I was sooo not disappointed! I don’t want to give too much away, but man some of the deaths had me either crying or.. one of them anyways.. had me cheering. I cannot wait to follow this adventure in the upcoming books (that BETTER BE COMING!)

Excellent Story!

This is an awesome zombie tale that any fan of the genre will definitely enjoy.

Fantastic addition!

I started this book immediately after finishing the first. It picks up right where book 1 ends. There's new characters added. I very much like that this book is longer. It allows us to know the characters better, get more of their backstories, etc. I'm looking forward to the next addition in the series!

Great sequel to the first book

Very vivid storytelling and excellent writing really enjoyed the storyline and the action was great also the characters are very likeable

Surge of the dead

Great listen and love that the lead characters are young females, and dogs more zombie books need dogs that actually survive . Looking forward to continuing this adventure and finding out the plot twist with the Z’s

Totally addictive

After listening to book one I couldn’t wait to dive into this one. It didn’t disappoint.
I love ‘the lads’
The story is gripping and totally shocking in some points.

fast paced zombies

an interesting and fast paced storyline that was made more enjoyable by the narrator. look forward to the next installment

Exciting and absorbing

Lori and Virginia return in an exciting continuation of their dash to safety, meeting new friends along the way. There are new worries, and more opportunities for the sisters to show everyone around them they are bad-ass, and can blaize their own trails. Strap in and hang on for a wild ride! I can't wait for the next instalments.

Loved it

I really enjoyed listening to book 2. Like I said, it is brilliant. I really liked the development of the storyline and the characters. Plus we are introduced to new characters. In this instalment there are plenty of scenes which kept me on the edge of my seat. Definitely will listen to book 3 if it is released on Audible.

Good sequel

I enjoyed listening to this book. Good mix of character development and action. Narration was good.

This is my second audio book by A.L. White & David Loving this has got to be another 5 out of 5 I have about 100 audio books a year this one is in my top ten this year
