Publisher's Summary

The end of the world is close. The dead walk the Earth, feasting on the living. Rogue bands of crazies, gangs of cannibals, and evil organizations fight for what is left of civilization. Blood and violence are the laws of the land. Those that survive must do things that no sane person should be forced to do.

Good thing Elsbeth isn't exactly sane.

The savior of, and saved by, the Stanford family, Elsbeth now fights for the Stronghold. She has friends and allies willing to fight right alongside her. Most of all, she has family.

She has sisters.

And it ain't the sisters that need to watch out for the apocalypse. It's the apocalypse that needs to watch out for the sisters!

The best-selling Z-Burbia series continues, but now it is Elsbeth's turn to tell the story. Hang on for one crazy ride with a cannibal savant and her battle-hardened sisters as they tear through the wasteland and turn the zombie apocalypse on its undead head!

Do not expect classic Z-burbia!

This book is very different then the preceding novels. Let go of that expectation and you will get more out of it.

Action filled story that wraps up some loose ends

This is a great wrap up of loose ends for this series, filling in some gaps and making you love Elsbeth even more. I really enjoyed finding out the story of what happened to the sisters in both the past and in the time since book 6. There was lots of action, zombies, suspense, fights and some heartache in this story. Even though I loved the content of this book and the narrator did a good job, it took me a while to adjust to the new voices that were used for the characters, especially Elsbeth. I can see why the author chose to go with a female narrator (seeing as it's a book about a group of "sisters") but having got use to the voices the male narrator of first 6 books used for these characters it was a bit irritating and jarring to not have the voice and accents that you associate with that character. It made it a bit disconnected for me until I acclimatized. Having said that, I still really enjoyed this audiobook.

Good but could be better

First the narrator I was not impressed the voice was not Elsbeth the voice did not sound or have the expression or strength of the Elsbeth in book 1 thru 6. For the story not to bad but I feel it lack really storyline or again the strength of the original books it was a bit flat and it drops you off the cliff it just stops with to many questions and facts of what was going to happen in the near future it leaves the reader just guessing.

I loved this book!

I love Elsbeth! I enjoyed her character throughout the series, but The Sisters of the Apocalypse was even better! All Elsbeth, all the time! I think the Adventures of Elsbeth would be a great new series!

Excellent read

This was a great read, I loved hearing about Elsbeth and the Sisters origins and pov, but I have to say I missed the Standfords, it was just not the same without 'Long Pork' and his particular brand of snark, and I missed Andrew Wehreln narration. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Enjoyable

Took a couple of minutes to get used to different narrator but worth the wait. Story told from the sisters perspective makes it interesting and different.
