Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Damien Echols and his wife Lorri Davis reveal their intimate and affecting letters, written while Echols was wrongfully imprisoned on death row. An explosive best seller, Life After Death turned a national spotlight on Damien Echols, who was just 18 when he was wrongly condemned to death. But one of the most remarkable parts of his story still remained untold.

After seeing a documentary about the “West Memphis Three,” Lorri Davis - a New York-based landscape architect - wrote him a letter, beginning a 13-year correspondence that witnessed their marriage while Echols was still on death row and culminated in Echols’ release in 2011. Sharing their private letters, Yours for Eternity is a must-listen for the legions who followed the case as well as anyone who appreciates an extraordinary love story.

What A Bunch Of Drivel That Was!

This book left me speechless! I have NEVER given a one star review and I DID listen to every single word in one sitting as I followed the case and still, to this day believe in Damien Echol's innocence. I kept hanging 'in there' waiting for it to improve but it never happened.

In short this is about eight hours of 'I love you', 'I love you too' ' You are beautiful' followed by me saying 'I feel nauseous!

I really would love to hear their story but this does not do their story justice.

Beautiful Story

Putting some of the love letters together as a book was a lovely idea. The book overall was great. I would have like to heard more letters from the "rough times" that these two were able to get through in their relationship. I would also have like to heard more about their first days as a free couple. Not the "sex stuff"- but just the general adjustments the two of them had to make once he was free. I am extremely happy for them!

Their love inspires

I loved their voices, hearing all the intimate details of their love. I loved their humanness, their magick, the devotion they shared, and the power that infused their hearts and souls. I would recommend this book to any human looking for love, suffering in love, really anyone who wants to know about love on a deeper level.

Love in hateful circumstances shines bright!

Would you consider the audio edition of Yours for Eternity to be better than the print version?

I do. To hear these letters in the voices of their authors is amazing. I met Damien and Lori at their book signing in Chicago, and I felt like I knew them because I was already so familiar with their voices. It's like sitting by a bon fire chatting with them about their Love!

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is a non fiction love story. A chronical of love letters from death row. I don't believe you can separate these two people. They are essentially one entity of undying love. That's what I imagine is true from what I read.

Which character – as performed by Damien Echols and Lorri Davis – was your favorite?

As the years went by and they got closer they used the same language. You can not separate them as two people or "characters". They are one together. They both did a fantastic job of reading their own words. you could literally feel the LOVE, frustration, jealousy, passion, lust, and longing. I'm so glad they read it themselves.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

the personal nature of these letters moved me to tears. But, I got to say when Lori was talking about sneaking fruit into Damien. fruit swinging between her knees attached to her panties. I laughed out loud when I heard that. And when she talked about wearing 4 inch heels and it was very girly. she gave Damien all the credit. all these things hit very close to home for me. This book meant more to me than I can ever articulate.

Any additional comments?

This book is a true love story. a REAL love story with all the ups and downs couples go through. It is a true "stand by your man" story. A story about the strength a women can possess when she truly believes in a man and what she wants. I can not say enough good things about it. Especially the fact that they READ IT THEMSELVES! authors don't normally do that. Damien has now done it twice! There is something so very magickal about listening to an author read his/her own words. This LOVE story was pure magik read by the people in love. Thank you so much Damien and Lori. It is extreamly difficult to be in love with a man in prison. These letters are so personal and it was truly selfless of you to share it in your own voices.

Sweet, romantic, thoughtful...and kind of hot

After listening to Damien’s interview on True Crime Obsessed, I poked around his author page on Amazon. I had an audible credit burning a hole in my proverbial pocket and decided to give this book a try. I am sometimes hesitant about authors narrating their own books, but wow! Damien and Lorri should consider a career in narration! They were incredible. Their love story is told through the letters they wrote each other while he was incarcerated. They are sweet, romantic, thoughtful, sometimes funny, and – much to my surprise – kind of hot at times. They are so brave for sharing this part of their relationship with the world, but I am so glad they did. Great credit spend!

Decent listen

What does Damien Echols and Lorri Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Having met both of them in person and having had conversations with Damien on more than one occasion, it was odd to hear their voices reading the book. I guess when you know someone it's kinda creepy hearing the intimate and private conversations they have had with each other. On the other hand, it would have been horrible if strangers were reading it.

Nauseous!

What disappointed you about Yours for Eternity?

I read reviews and really had high hopes for this book. I thought it would be such an interesting story! I'm all for a good love story, but give me a break. I'm halfway through this book and its so awful. I love you, no I love you more, you are so awesome, no you are awesome, I can't wait to make love to you, no I can't wait to make love to you more.....ugh PUKE! It just drones on and on and on and on. I am trying hard to continue hoping that this sugary sweet nonsense stops and a real story emerges but I am not very hopeful.

What was most disappointing about Damien Echols and Lorri Davis ’s story?

Too much of the sickening sweet love letters and not enough "story" to keep you interested.

What does Damien Echols and Lorri Davis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I do enjoy their voices as they are able to convey the actual emotions well.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I probably shouldn't answer since I haven't finished the book, but as of right now I feel nauseous because its just the same stuff over and over.

Brilliant story

Amazing book especially if you followed Damien’s story since he got convicted. It answered so many questions I have had over the years. Thank God for Lorri. I’m convinced she saved his life!!!

True Love Conquers All

If you are a hopeless romantic, you will enjoy this, although it will definitely make your heart hurt! I loved Damien's first book, but I especially loved hearing Lorri's side of things too. They truely deserve all the happiness in the world for what they've been through together.

A gift.

Truly breathtakingly wonderful. Full of smiles, love and agonising heart ache.
Confusion and certainty.
Loneliness and the surrounding warmth of eternal companionship.
My heart bleeds and is at once protected.
A gift of strenght and power.

Lorri and Damien, Blessed Be.💗💗💗
