A new crime novel sure to set Blair apart as one of the best female crime writers!

In this suspenseful novel, young Bradford and Harper want a big house, can't afford it, scour the neighborhood, and change the address on their driver's licenses to that of the house, pack up their belongings into a rented moving van, drive to the house, and force their way in, saying it's their house. The original homeowners are forced out of their house.

Young Squatters

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

This novel is one of the scary I have ever listened to. It doesn't have a serial killer, a killer virus, or any normal culprits. It is

frighteningly to think someone could steal your life, not by identy theft but by other technological fraud. It was sad to see how this famliy

was destroyed by two greedy kids, not willing to work for what they want. The plot is great, but the ending felt forced.

The narration was very good.

Cautionary Tale

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Chilling story of an upper-middle class family who has the rug pulled out from under them. the family has no concept of how to live without their affluence. The parents having to survive a social/government system that seems designed to make their life worse just when it is needed most. and really frightening... identity theft and its consequences.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would like to have more info on how Harper would have survived.

Did Heather Elizabeth Lynn Farrar do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

good overall.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

That Harper would grow a backbone and give up Bradford.

Not your average horror story!

This book is TERRIFYING! It tells the story of an affluent family who becomes the victims of squatters, using the system against them. The under-aged squatters are a couple who notice people in their lives scamming their way through life and decide to learn about tenant rights. The male scammer uses charm and social engineering to gather all the data he needs to learn about his targets. They pose as 'renters' and provide false documentation when confronted by the owners claiming they responded to a craigslist ad and have paid a deposit to move in. When the police are called the false documents hold up to scrutiny and the officers, aware of tenants rights, cannot force the young couple out and the actual owners of the home have no choice but to let the 'tenants' stay while they vacate the home in hopes of a quick resolution that doesn't come fast enough.

What is so terrifying about this book is that it could actually happen. I've read news articles about prior tenants gone bad and this book details how it could actually happen to you in the home you're currently living in. This book can be used as a way to educate yourself so you can protect your home OR as a handbook on how to pull the same scam. BEWARE!

This book was thought-provoking. In this age of social media, in a matter of hours, a family's lives were turned upside down. It all seemed so realistically simple and completely possible!
