Excellent! wonderful twist toward the end. I read the twist twice just to make sure what I was hearing!

Wow!

Just wow! That is all I can say. This book starts a series that is gut wrenching and beautiful. After you finish this series (three books I think) make sure you check out the SHTF series by the same author. It definitely takes a wild turn. There are four books out but I hear there will be a fifth one in that series.

Touched my soul

I have to admit that I started this book about 6 months ago. It gave me such a horrible case of claustrophobia that I couldn’t stand the thought of it. Just imagining it gave me a terrible sense of foreboding and dread. But I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Every time I would finish a book I was listening to I would scroll down to The Girl in the Box and contemplate picking up where I left off. Finally I bit the bullet and started it from the beginning. These characters are so well thought out it seems like I know each of them personally. Ms. Akers can make me scream in outrage, cry at injustice, sob with joy when things go well, dread when things go well because you know another shoe is going to drop and it will be 10times worse, and yet still laugh as well. Quite a rollercoaster of emotion. Well worth the read!

What a thrill-ride!

Started listening with no idea what to expect, came away with a renewed appreciation for the author! Absolute must for anyone’s library.

Gotcha

Lisa does a great job of grabbing your attention right from the beginning and keeps you guessing right till the end. A dark and tragic story of a mother and her three daughters and the trials they have to face to find their way back to each other.
