Publisher's summary

From number one New York Times best-selling author Abbi Glines comes a brand-new Rosemary Beach novel about Tripp Newark and his hidden romantic past with Bethy Lowry.

In the eyes of the wealthy playboys who frequent Kerrington Country Club in Rosemary Beach, Tripp Newark is a hero. Under pressure from his parents to become a lawyer and lead a conservative, upper-class life, Tripp disappeared from town five years ago to travel the world, forfeiting the opportunity to inherit millions. Yet few know what he was really running from...

Bethy Lowry was unraveling long before her boyfriend drowned in a riptide trying to save her after she'd had one too many drinks - again. A trailer park kid working as a cart girl among the wealthy patrons of Kerrington Country Club, Bethy has always been impressionable. But five years ago, before she earned her reputation as a hard-drinking, easy girl, she had spent a single summer with Tripp Newark that changed her life forever.

Breathe Taking

I have read all of these books I just never reviewed them, so I am relisting and reviewing now.
Tripp Newark & Bethy Lowry

Bethy has always had a place in my heart, she was so open and kind to Blaire not matter what. But you always got the sense something wasn't quite right with her. Like she was lost.

So after the heartbreak of the last book I was so glad to see she gets her own HEA if you will.

Tripp, oh he is a hunky dunky for sure. I was intrigued by him from stories passed. So when he came back to town and things start to unfold. I was with glee as it looked like he was hung up on our girl Bethy.

You can see why these two are meant to be. It also breaks my heart that they had to be away from each other for so long. But I guess the heart wants what it wants and they were meant to heal each other. The time away brought them clarity.
One of my ALL time Favorites of the series.

Seriously Sebastian York's voice is butter he is Tripp. And Elizabeth Louise embodies Bethy's spirit. Fantastic narration.

Good Standalone Not Interested In Series

Sebastian York is a fantastic narrator. He performed several series that I have listened to and I have always enjoyed the way he has is able to master the tough job of making women sound like women and men sounding like studs. He is a true professional

Elizabeth Louise had a bit of difficulty convincing me that these were motorcycle men, however on the flip side as she performed the female characters – she was spot on.

They both made this book enjoyable and help keep me engaged in an "adult contemporary romance" that, at times, seemed more of a juvenile/young adult storyline. Here's a quick summary.

Trip & Bethy were friends in high school. However they became close, physically close during a summer break when Trip was expected to leave at the end of summer to attend college. Instead he ran away as the time got closer – but not before knowing that Bethy held his heart.

Bethy found out, shortly after Trip left that she was pregnant. He never returned her calls and she was left to deal with the situation on her own. I cannot elaborate without giving away the ending.

Bethy found solace and contentment with Jace, a cousin of Trips. Jace died of drowning when he was trying to rescue Beth. Beth as had to live with the guilt.

Eight years later, Trip & Beth cross paths at a friends wedding. He knows that he messed things up badly, by running away from Beth but he has his reasons. In the meantime he is out to prove to her that he is a changed man, some one worthy of her love. She will have none of it. Between the pregnancy and her damage from Jace's accident, she has too much baggage to sort through and there is no place for Trip in her life.

They both keep reflecting back to their relationship, years earlier, only in each individual's mind, never really talking about it. The rest of the book was easily predictable until the final chapters when all is revealed! It is a great ending and this listener would have liked to hear a lengthy epilogue, but that's not meant to be.

As a part of a series, I probably will not continue based on this book alone. However, I have listened to three Abbi Glines in the past few weeks, I gave one five stars all around, the other was less impressive and this one would be right between them. I enjoy getting to know Abbi Glines and her work. I appreciate her writing style and will continue to seek out books that she has authored.

Notes: Mature themes & swearing including an occasional F bomb.

I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that I read them the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

To each his own

I must not have read the right review. The graphic "dirty" sex talk (the authors words) was a turn off to me. They seemed to be the heart of the entire story. Take the "talk" out and there wasn't much left. The narrator did a good job with each character. I might return this one. No desire to listen to this book a second time. As I said, to each his own. Some folks probably love it

ABSOLUTELY LOVED!

There's something about these Abbi Glines books that resonates with me. I've commented before that the books border on being like an after school special, with serious adult issues. maybe it's fact that all the characters are young, hot, rich, and sometimes a little naive while hooking up all around town! Whatever it is, I keep getting drawn in!

Tripp and Bethey definitely had a great story to tell. They've been on the outskirts of the other books, but their story was equally as interesting. The sex is hot as ever, and I found myself gushing over their budding romance as two youngsters in love. There's usually a cliffhanger but I was happy that this one was wrapped up in one story and Bethey was put out of her misery!

Highly recommended, and credit worthy!

Finally! Tripp and Bethy's story!

I'm such a fan of Abbi Glines. You can't go wrong with her books =)

I've been waiting for this story for so long and now that it's here....I wasn't disappointed!

What's not to love....Hot girl, dreamy rich guy and some sexual tension that has been waiting years to come to light? - Oh, it's on baby =)

If you've read the other books in the series, this is a no brainer - add it to your cart already!

EXCELLENT!

Where does You Were Mine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was a good book to listen too!

What was one of the most memorable moments of You Were Mine?

It was good to see how Bethie was able to come to terms with Chase's death, she was able to get out of her depression.

Have you listened to any of Sebastian York and Elizabeth Louise ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Loved their performance!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it was perfect!

Any additional comments?

I didn't like how it ended. It wasn't a cliffhanger, but it could have ended a different way.

Absolutely amazing, heartfelt book.

I was so excited to listen to this audio, I already have the paperback and Ebook, but I never got time with my busy schedule. So when I ordered the audio I couldn’t turn it off.

Tripp and Bethy's story ripped my heart out and shattered it to pieces.
Abbi took me on a journey of heartbreak, Loss, inner turmoil and realization.

I love how the story unfolds, seriously don't miss out on their journey to healing.

Another amazing story by the wonderful Abbi glines.

I honestly love every book Abbi writes, but there's something about Rosemary beach that has my heart Captive.
I have actually been on Vacation there with my family and the way she describes it, and makes it come alive in my mind, it was everything I imagined when I got there.

You hit another 5 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ from me.

Bethy story!

🎧 AUDIO REVIEW 🎧

AUDIO 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
BOOK 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I wasn’t sure I could listen to this book because I loved Bethy with Jace so this was hard for me. However I loved Tripp and I been wanting to know what happened between them previously.

The story was so sweet and true love. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

I sat through the whole book wondering where his job was and how he was surviving, it came through in the story before the end and help make nothing missing.

The Audio was so good.

Fab

Book 9 in the Abbi Glines Rosemary Beach series follows Tripp and Bethy's story from the the time Bethy saw Tripp when she used to visit her Aunt ,to when they hooked up when she was 16, to the present day. The story helped me fill in a few blanks with regards to Bethy's relationship in previous books with Jace, and actually made me warm to her so much more. Their story is not a simple love story and they both seemed to have forfeited so much of themselves to get to where they want to be. Tripp loves Bethy with everything he has, and it was refreshing having a leading man who knew where he had gone wrong, and was willing to rectify things, no matter the cost, even to himself. Heartbreaking in parts, sizzling hot in other parts. Loved the dual POV, the story and of course ALL the characters. Fab read.
