Publisher's Summary

A charmingly funny testament to second chances in life and love from the acclaimed author of Whistlin’ Dixie in a Nor’easter.

Lisa Patton won the hearts of readers with her book Whistlin’ Dixie in a Nor’easter, which became a sleeper-success. Building on a smashing debut, Lisa’s poised to go to the next level—because whether in Vermont snow or in Memphis heat, Dixie heroine Leelee Satterfield is never too far from misadventure, calamity—and ultimately, love.

Having watched her life turn into a nor’easter, 34-year-old Leelee Satterfield is back home in the South, ready to pick back up where she left off. But that’s a task easier said than done. Leelee, a single mom, still dreaming of the Vermonter who stole her heart, and accompanied by her three best friends who pepper her with advice, nudging, and peach daiquiris, opens another restaurant and learns she has to prove herself yet again. Fans of women’s fiction will delight in this novel filled with heart and humor.

Critic Reviews

“Southern to the core…funny to the bone. In Lisa Patton’s new novel she proves that we can go home again, and in many cases we should.” (Fannie Flagg, New York Times best-selling author)

Loved this one...why did you switch narrators?!?

Any additional comments?

I love this series, so cute. I'm writing this here as a warning for the next book. I actually returned the 3rd book in this series because they switched the narrator from Marguerite Gavin, who did a fantastic job, to Lisa Patton, who should stick to writing. The narration was so bad I couldn't finish the book. Why, oh why, would you switch narrators on the 3rd book of a series?? Bless your heart!

lived it, loved it

I'm a lifelong Southerner who has lived up north and in Memphis. I loved the story. Southerners rarely drop their R's anymore though... at least not these days. the older generation and new Orleans dwellers still do sometimes, but I very rarely hear it these days.

Ok book

I read the first and second of this series. To much was repeated. Since I live in Memphis I enjoyed the references to the familiar places in Memphis and surrounding areas. This book would make a good beach read. It is definitely a Chick book.

Nice Story...Not sure about the ending...

Don't get me wrong I thought it was a great story! The narrator was great! but I thought in this book we would actually get more into Leelee's relationship with her new guy... but it didn't :( it was a story of her going back to Memphis and really didn't get good until the end...and then it ended.
