Loved the story hated the reader

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is a great wrap up to the light and breezy southern chick lit series by Lisa Patton. I loved that it tied up all the loose ends, but miss the reader from the other two books. Lisa's attempt at accents made listening almost downright painful and if I did love the stories would have probably not made it to the end.

Bad attempt at accents was huge distraction for me.

The ending was really nice.

I can't finish it.

I loved the first 2 books in this series. Obviously, I was excited to get book 3. However the narration us so bad, I just can't finish it. Maybe I'll buy the Kindle version and read it.

Good Book

I liked this book, but the shrieking of the performer was a bit much sometimes.

Sweet trilogy

I enjoyed this third in a series of books by Lisa Patton. It was a sweet story and Lisa did a fine job of tying up the story. I did not like the change in narrators, particularly with the voice Lisa gave to Peter. Peter’s ‘Northen’ voice was too whiney and I feel that it took away from his character’s strength.

Performance

Loved this series and the book, but the narration and performance was disappointing. Lisa Patton wrote a great series, but her reading and performing of this last book was so disappointing. I was embarrassed for her at some of the accents she put on the interesting characters of the book. I wish that Marguerite Gavin had finished the series. I was happy with the way this book concluded and finished the story.

I would never have made it through this book if I had not already listened to the first two. poor Lisa needs to stick to writing. she made Peter sound so unattractive. she ended up making all the men sound dumb by her trying to sound northern and don't get me started on how she made her adopted momma sound.
I listen to another book she read as long as she doesn't read it.

I didn’t feel the Southern charm

The reader changed (to the author) on this, the third book in the series. That’s a difficult transition to be sure but in this case, it was awful. The authors voices for her characters was, well bizarre. Could have possibly been a fairly cute book but the narration ruined it.

Terrible Narration

The author’s decision to narrate this book herself is a poor one. Even if the narrator of the previous two books in the collection was unavailable, it would have been to find someone who could actually do voices and dialects. The previously masculine, sexy voice of Peter now sounds like a female with a speech impediment. The shrieking when she elevates her voice, especially if you like to listen with earbuds, is positively painful. Whoever decided this was a good idea should be fired. This ruined it for me and I’ll be returning it.

Hire a professional to read your books!

I just finished last two books and lived them. Not sure I am going to make it past Chapter 1. Narration is horrible and so annoying I may just have to end the series early. Hire a professional. Accents and dialects are completely inconsistent with first two. Such a shame because I love the stories ND was looking forward to this one.

it was hard to listen to the narrator scream. Ruined the image of the main character.
