Story
Ynyr was a third male, and while he was a fit and worthy warrior, he had always known that no female would ever join with him. Too many looked down on his family because of his mother's refusal to leave his manno. He knew Ull would be able to overcome this because he was a first male and would one day be a lord; maybe even Vali, since he was a second male, but neither Ynyr nor his younger brother, Zev, would ever be acceptable to a female. The most they could hope for was to serve their house with honor, but that all changed with the arrival of the females from Earth.

Few had actually laid eyes on the Vandar or the notorious warlords who led their fleets of warships — and survived to talk about it. So, when the ruthless aliens boarded our ship intent on destroying it and killing the crew, I did the only thing I could do. I gave myself to the dark and menacing warlord.

Publisher's Summary
Emperor Wray Vasteri was the ruler of the Tornian Empire. His house had ruled the empire ever since the great infection, which struck over 500 years ago, and he feared he would be the last. The number of compatible females was dwindling faster than anyone knew. If they could not find compatible females soon, their entire civilization would cease to exist. It was the reason he agreed to meet with Liron, the emperor of the Kaliszian Empire in Kaliszian space. It was the only reason they had crossed paths with a Ganglian ship leaving Tornian space, and it was the only reason that the small female was discovered. Could she be what they had been searching for?
Wray found himself drawn to the small female he'd found beaten and abused on the Ganglian ship. She resembled a Tornian female but was much smaller. Could she be what he had been searching for?
Kim Teel has had a hard life - at least she thought she had until her parents were suddenly killed, and then her sister and brother-in-law disappeared. At 19 she realized she'd been protected from all of life's hardships. She had been cared for and loved her entire life and had come to expect it. She was terribly spoiled. Determined to change her ways, Kim went looking for her sister, only to be captured by the Ganglians, and it was then she learned what happened to the unprotected females of the universe.
Wray and Kim are both doing the same thing - trying to survive. But what they find is that there are more important things than just survival. And once they learn that, the universe changes forever.

AUDIBLE - PLEASE GET ALL THE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES!
At first I was a little let down by this book....I think "Grim" is a little better then "Wray". But then I realized that both books are good, they were just released in the wrong order. Grim is the continuation of the Tornians story, were Wray is the beginning of the story. In Wray we get some of the answers that were left open in Grim.
Wray finds Kim on a slaver's ship when he is on is way home from a meeting with another emperor. She has been beaten, abused, and nearly dead. While taking her back to his ship for more medical treatment, their shuttle is shot down and they crash on a small planet and before they can be rescued, a fierce storm sets in and they are trapped in a cave until the storm passes. So their story begins. While they are trapped in the cave, Wray explains some of the history of his people to Kim and she tells Wray about her family and her dog Warrior. The only thing Wray doesn't tell her is that he is the emperor and it nearly costs him Kim's trust and love. I won't go any further, because I always hate review that give the whole book away. I'll just add that I love the parts were the Great Goddess interacts with both Kim and Wray.
M K Eidem has a great series going with these books and I truly hope Audible gets the rest of them. I enjoy the background sound effect, the people and the worlds he has created. I am also glad they use both male and female narrators, since few narrators can do both parts and to them well.
I hope you enjoy this series as much as I do and now I have to wait for the next book to come out.

HE SAVED HER & KEPT HER... BUT IT WASN'T EASY
Kim has had a terrible time after being kidnapped by the smelly, hairy and cruel Ganglian's who abused and raped her (no scenes) and so her rescue by Emperor Wray came just in time to save her life. As Wray slowly cleaned and looked after the unconscious female his protective side surfaced and so too did his attraction to the tiny frail looking redhead. But Kim was thankfully unaware of everything because her problems weren't over as they crash landed and were stranded, alone, on a desolate Planet. So, when she finally woke up, it was to see the huge handsome Alien Warrior who rescued her and he was lying nestled next to her.
Wray wanted this brave female to see the tender Tornian rather than the privileged Emperor so he kept his status back while they slowly learnt about each other and the deep chemistry between them grew along with their desire for each other. However, their rescue brought some shocking acts and revealed that the Tornian culture was anything but perfect..... and the strong-willed and determined Kim was about to shake up their beliefs, their expectations and the Tornian world. Unfortunately, she made some cruel and vindictive enemies along the way who thought their lives would run much much smoother if she wasn't around..... but a Goddess had some bountiful plans for this Human woman.
In book 1 (Grim) we've already met the Emperor and his Empress so we know the couple have a strong loving relationship, are happy together and, in the Prologue, it gives away something important which, IMHO, I would've loved to have experienced and shared in the 'event' towards the end instead of it being skimmed over in a sweet, but too short, Epilogue. However, apart from that, this was another wonderful glimpse into the lives and loves of the sexy Tornian Warriors, their loyalties and their need for females..... even when they come in the form of a tiny, opinionated, stubborn yet loving Earthling.
Multiple POV's, a great cast of characters and narrators who made the Chapters flow like actual conversations, there were sound effects which was unusual at first but became just a normal part of the listen and a loving sexy romance that had it's full share of angst and dramas as well as highs and lows. There were a few loose ends but hopefully they will be dealt with in the next book.
Worth a credit? Some might think that Kim and Wray's relationship developed too quickly but it did leave plenty of room for all the challenges that awaited the couple as they desperately struggled to meld two cultures together. And along the way they encountered surprises, animosity, resentment, anger, hostility, bitter sly enemies, discrimination, prejudices, danger and culture clashes. However, they also developed friendships, created a family, gained respect, welcomed Wray's teenage son and changed lives. Lucky for me all this made for a great Sci-Fi listen that was highly enjoyable, entertaining and rewarding and I'm glad to say it made a very creditworthy listen.

Very entertaining and engaging
This audiobook is kinda like an old timey radio drama and I love it. I wish there were a few more voice actors, but the 2 that did work on this was really good.
The audiobook as a whole feels over the top and melodramatic, but in the best way possible.
There are a few things that bothered me though, the most pressing the fact that this should come with a trigger warning. Not only does one alien species rape the h, but the H also touches the h inappropriately while she is unconscious.
The other thing is the Tornians (the H's species) surprise when the h acts in a way that their females don't. The Tornians know many other races and species and know all females aren't like theirs. They know their culture isn't the only one and yet act like its a huge surprise if someone looks or acts differently than them.
For the most part though I enjoyed the story and laughed at it (yes, at it) often.

Good story, I am not sure that this shouldn't have been the first book in the series.
The story is somewhat similar to 'Grimm' the first Tornians Book.
There were six narrators in this recording but only two for Grimm and I prefered the 'Grimm' narration.
The story consists of a dying race in need of females and the power struggles that occur inside the race. I feel the female taken from Earth is a great deal more forgiving than I would be.

West, the first book in the Tornian series.
Personally I didn't gel with Emma. I understood her learning about herself through the trials she went through but felt that she was just a little too... sanctimonious (?) not sure if that is the right word but am sure someone else will disagree. Otherwise narrative was fine and story was average.

Love love love!
I enjoyed the reading of this novel, and loved the different voices representing the different characters!
It breaks the conversations from the beautifully read narrative in a way that lends itself perfectly to my being able to see events in my head unfold as I listen. This gave me the same experience of the story as I get when I am reading it for myself! Top notch performances!

DOUBLE WOW!!
Sex (explicit), romance and a good story.
This is the second book in the Tornian series of books.
After listening to Grim I couldn't wait to listen to this book and it didn't disappoint. The Emperor of the Tornian Empire Wray is just as sexy as his brother Grim.I can't say too much because it would spoil it for other listeners.
The narrators are excellent and do the book full justice.
Go on buy it, its well worth a credit

As with book one go so wrapped up in this. Ok too, great from start to finish and narration just as good.

Absolutely dreadful
I gave up in disgust shortly after they crashed. So, she was a virgin, had been brutally and repeatedly raped by aliens, but was flirting with Wray within 24 hours, wanting to get it on with him and experiencing emotional trauma?
Also, I hated the main narrator. Could he possibly sound more bored?
I will definitely ask for a refund for this trash.

Goddess what a wonderful narration.
I found the several different narrators in this book to add to the telling of the story. I also found the sound effects to add to my enjoyment of the retelling. thumbs up for a truely wonderful audio experience.

Heart wrenching with a happy ending
Love Wray and Kim's story it's compelling, addictive and heartwarming (in the end) thanks M K Eidem but please write a story about Callen as well. I have read the digital copy of this book a few times already but i will never get enough of the hot Tornian Warriors and our feisty beautiful earthlings :) thanks for the narrative it's excellent (why so many voices) but all good thanks again xxx
