Publisher's summary

To survive, Connor Magnuson must become a man with no equal.

The path ahead is a deadly one. His end of the bargains he made to get this far have come due, and his debts take him back to a homeland he's been trying to forget. Kirkwall is an island of ancient secrets, and the magic in its soil will topple empires if he doesn't get to it first.

His legend has begun to spread through the pubs, and others begin taking credit. Imposters pop up along the coast, and they threaten to undermine everything he has worked for. The deadliest army in history gathers in the south, stronger every day, and they've set their sights on him. The tides of this world will shift at any moment, and Connor is pushed to his limits. To protect what's his, he's forced to unleash the raw power that will consume him if he isn't careful.

Enslaved dragons. A dying goddess. A path to immortality—or an early grave. Magic always comes at a cost, and this time, Connor doesn't know if it's one he can pay.

Very good!

Only one complaint but easy enough to ignore the narrator does a great job but his female voices leave alot to be desired but not to bad that you can't just enjoy the book.

Yet another great book in this series

The plot keeps getting better! I thought there were only going to be 3 books in the series when I first started it, but there's so much more left to cover. Character development keeps getting better too

epic!

I have enjoyed each of the wraith blade books, but this 1 in particular has some pretty awesome events taking place, as well as the potential for unlimited growth for the Connor! Not only that, but apparently a LOT of chaos will be headed his way! 😲😀😁

The storyline. MC and world development was well done.

The Wraith King is the embodiment of how death changes you lol. Didn’t really care for the limited perspective of the Wraith King. Quinn’s father was a little over the top in a cruel self obsessed sort of way.

Good story, subpar narration

The story was fine, but the narrator and his choice of voices was annoying. Whether it was his voice for strenuous activity or his droning female sniveling “accent” it was a slog to listen to.

Wayne Mitchell once again bringing the characters to life!! Great story.

Waiting for it to be released and knowing that I’ll have to wait for the next book. Was hooked from the beginning.

Excellent narrator! Brought a fabled book to life like watching tv. Wraith Blade, Wraith Storm and Wraith Forged.

Love the series and the narrator. The 3 books are good alone but when narrated by this person…forgot his name, placed this series to a new level. There’s excitement, sorry, and maniacal people. Can’t wait to get book 4. There is a book 4 isn’t it.

overdone

The story itself is overly wordy. The performance is farcical. The heros never actually suffer any consequence; everything works out just fine: everytime.
3 books in, and I will be stopping there. What began as an interesting concept has shown itself to be predictable and annoying.

not as good as the first two

the first two were excellent, while this one was just ok. Wayne Mitchell 's performance was just bad. he has only two female voices, and then the emphasis he reads with is too stereotypical, and distracting.
