Stat-heavy LitRPG. No romance. Relentless progression.
They told him he'd never earn a Class. Now he's coming to take them down.

Caelor Argent grew up on the wrong side of the system. Like all Classless, he was a nobody. Until the day a rare [Wraithguard] Class with spectral skills and abilities awakens his true potential.

Now, he's starting to get noticed. A hidden cult has been culling 'problem' Classes for years. Those who grow too strong are wiped out. And Caelor has become their number one target.

Bad call.

Caelor isn't here to play it safe. He's here to grind, optimize, and win. And he'll show those at the top just what happens when they mess with the wrong man.

If you crave number-crunchy, no-romance Progression Fantasy inspired by Azarinth Healer, Primal Hunter, and Ultimate Level One, then welcome to Wraithguard.

I read the reviews. A lot of people have less than desirable opinions, although as the opener to what I can only assume is a sprawling story, I drew enjoyment from the relentless pursuit and the unyielding passion that the main character Possessed.

Worth a listen

It’s hard to get past the awful AI Virtual Voice narrator. It gives everyone an emotionless wooden tone and mispronounces words that are written alike by chooses the wrong version of the word, like pronouncing “bow” as “taking a bow” instead of “drawing a bow.” I’m guessing all the skills/powers in this book are emphasized in print (maybe in quotes or italics) because the AI has chosen to awkwardly pause before and after every skill or power name. It’s a shame. The plot is straightforward and a little simple so far, but you can see where the complexity will increase with the mc’s power level, as these kinds of books usually do. By the end, the mc has developed real attachments and has more on his mind than just getting stronger. It’s worth a read, and maybe someday it will get the real human narrator it deserves to infuse a little warmth and life to the performance.

Better to read this one in print

I tried. Got to chapter 11. No plot. Not a real story. Not a lot of character development

Chapt 11. Still no plot

Decent story but badly written and interesting class of the main character. It feels like a parent reading, too monotone and it affects a lot of the characters interactions especially when talking to someone.

Decent, but odd.
