Rin and Wraith

Rin is a survivor. Everyone reacts to abuse and the horrors in life in their own way. Rin did not let it defeat her. She was left in her psycho half-brothers care while growing up. He is a twisted soul who owns a brothel, and is happy to have his sisters make him a profit servicing clients. Rin ran when she found out he planned to sell her to a worse fate. Rin knew Wraith from when they were kids, and is hoping he could protect her. The two have to work through their emotional baggage before they can really be together.

At times Rin’s behavior is not consistent with that of traumatic sexual assault, it is also not out of bounds of the possible. Overall, this was a good story which kept my interest. I have enjoyed every one of the MC series.

Great series

I have delved deeply into the MC universe lately and I love, love the narrator who has been bringing these books to life. She has done an amazing job of doing that. She draws you in with the fantastic characters that the author has created and I love the relationships between those in the club and their women. I look forward to more in this series.

injury

This audiobook is about a woman (barely) Wren who was badly beaten and made to prostitute herself out who goes to the MC for help. Wrath takes her under his wing. One thing leads to another and she ends up pregnant with Wrath's baby. They are headed back to the clubhouse when someone sideswipes them and takes Wren back to her abuser (her brother). The author did a good job, narration was good and so was the storyline.

Entertaining

Narration review: the narrator was clear and easy to understand. She did the female voices well, and did such a good job on the male point of view that I forgot it was a woman performing it. I would listen to more by this narrator.

Perfection

I thought I love the normal book, but hearing it on audible brought everything to life!!! The author chose a perfect narrator.

A Rabid Wraith

4.5 stars - Rin Banner and Will "Wraith" each have a TON of baggage, but I really like them together. Yes, he seems to have more than her, and he's a bit of a numbskull, but I still like them as a couple.

When the cards are down, like really, truly down, and he finally mans up, I love how he goes completely rabid. He tears up the town and anyone in his way. It's kind of hot.

Oh, and that last Church meeting was epic! I was laughing so hard for a good portion of it. Just. Plain. Awesome! The setup for Tank... well, that's just gonna rock, I can tell.

I love the crossovers with several other MCs and how they all interact and support each other. I look forward to one day reading or listening to their stories.

Great Addition to the Series!

This is book 8 in the Dixie Reapers MC series. I like this series of interconnected standalone romances. Wraith and Rin's story is entertaining, and steamy. Rin is a strong survivor. I liked Wraith protectiveness. The storyline is dark, intense, and captivating. Umi Markkanen did a good job bringing this story to life. #StoryOrigin

I loved wraith and wrens story. I absolutely love Umi Markkanen narration. she makes the book come to life.

If you're looking for an MC series...

If you're looking for an MC series with standalone books and HEA's that are quick listens, so far this series has been pretty good for that, though I will say the main male love interest in this book got on my nerves with his wishy washy behavior and didn't do nearly enough groveling to get the girl back as he should have. Trigger warnings, there is mention of sex trafficking, rape, date rape drugs, and physical abuse. Narrator was fine, though I always want duet or dual narration when I'm listening to romance books, it really helps with the immersion. I would listen to more from this author, it's a good binge listen while multitasking length!
