This is book 9 in the Dixie Reapers MC series. I like this series of interconnected standalone romances. I like this series! Flicker and Pepper's age-gap romance is entertaining, filled with passion, secrets, mystery, action, drama, and twists and turns. I liked the insta-lust/insta-love. Flicker is handsome, and protective. Pepper is sassy, and strong. Their chemistry is sizzling hot! Umi Markkanen did a great job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. #StoryOrigin

This book features Pepper, a woman on the run who is Sarge’s secret baby, and Flicker, an officer of the Dixie Reapers MC.

Triggers include The Biker’s Trifecta: language, violence, and sex. Featured tropes are Age Gap, Alpha Male, Instalove, Secret Baby, Kidnapping, Mob Debt, Hitman Baby One More Time, Surprise Pregnancy. The zexytime scenes feature a virgin heroine, BDSM lite, spanking, and use of the P word.

I’d give the story a 4/5. It was pretty good, but I took points off for the kidnapping because it’s a tired plot twist. The narration gets a 5/5 because Umi Markkanen slays.

Another fun read from the Dixie Reapers. Flicker and Pepper. Huge age gap. 30 years. Instant attraction. Very hot steam.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. Umi Markkanan is one of my favorite narrators. She brings life to her reads. She puts them out there with ease and clarity. 5 stars for her as well.

Loved the narration of Umi Markkanen

Pepper hiding from trouble after her mom junkie mother dies. She never meet her father and ends up at the MC compound in search of her father.
Flicker is the treasurer of the Dixie Reaper's MC and he's the that doesn't have an old lady or kids. Pepper arrives at the club in skin tight leather, riding a motorcycle is one thing but when she removes her helmet Flicker is caught hook line and sinker when he sees her fiery red hair back.

Despite some dark turns and incredibly OTT insta-love,
I enjoyed this so much. Pepper White is in an untenable situation thanks to her mother, who's really more of an egg donor than mother. I admire her strength in getting out of a bad situation and making her way in the world, including tracking down her father, Lance "Sarge" Reid, when she finally has some information.

Daniel "Flicker" is entertaining, serious, dominant, and naughty. I appreciate that he owns that his attraction and need to claim Pepper so soon after meeting are over-the-top.

Pepper's past and present are hard and haunting. Things go down that aren't easily swallowed with several facing danger. Of course, some of that danger comes from Pepper herself - whether she's trying to do the right thing or simply protecting herself.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrator is Umi Markkanen who continues to do a fantastic job with all the characters.

Story: 4.5 stars

Listening Speed: 1.8x

Pepper and Flicker- Pepper looking for her dad after her mom's suicide. Flicker is an officer of the dixie reapers. There is a huge age difference between Pepper and Flicker about 30 years. The chemistry was instant and very hot and steamy.
I love how you can listen to them as a standalone. They all connect due to the characters being in different books.
I love all of Harley Wylde's books. Umi Markkanen voice makes these books even better.
