Publisher's Summary

Dr. Ashlee Logan's world changed forever on a snowy December night in Boston. She has spent the last two years on the road, trying to escape the memory of that fateful night. With only her Great Dane, Drake, as her companion, she has worked her way across country from the Atlantic to the Pacific, working as an ER physician along the way.

While serving her country, former Navy doctor Dale Parker had her life shattered in a single moment on a hot, windswept desert roadside. Now, three years later, although her physical wounds have healed, Dale is forever changed by the experience. Struggling with her self-image, she has dedicated her second chance at life to helping other wounded veterans.

LA Metropolitan Hospital brings the two women together. Drawn together as kindred spirits, neither wants to face the stirring of emotions the other woman invokes.

Together can Dale and Logan move past the horrific events of their pasts, or are they forever destined to be . . . Wounded Souls

Contains mature themes.

Only because of Angela Dawe

Angela Dawe can read a credit card agreement and I will simply melt.
However, the story is not that much. The book was way longer than it needed to be. The drama was unnecessary and repetitive, so by the time they finally get there, you don't care anymore.

Scars aren't always visible but love can heal all.

Dr Logan has been running from the hurts of her past. For 2 years her life has only been work and Drake her sisters Great Dane. She has worked from the eastern states to now be on the west coast in LA. At LA Metro she meets Dale Parker a Navy Vet whose life was shattered in a dessert roadside ambush with physical wounds that have taken so much to heal. The other scars are not visible but are no less there. Together what these two share just warms the heart. It is something beyond simple understanding to see the path these women have chosen in order to live day to day. This amazing story brought to life by the brilliant R.J. Nolan and Angela Dawe who continues to give these characters a magnificent voice is heart wrenching but so good. It is a reminder that really competent people can be so full of hurts. The real joy of the story is not only the healing love the two main characters but the real picture of what the folks at VA's experience and the many peo0le who make a difference . I have loved all the characters in this series and this book opened my eyes even more to trauma work. Suacy dialogue, filled with raw emotions that are sure to touch the soul. I cried just as much when Drake was sick and Logan's heart was breaking as I did when Dale and Logan shared their stories. Such love/emotions felt in the words of this brilliantly gifted writer.

tired of lame reasons

I am really tired of lame reasons of why not to fall in love or have sex. The other woman had a good reason.
A very good one.

A balm for the soul

Wounded Souls the 3rd (and sadly it seems the last) book of RJ Nolan's L.A. Metro series is a fabulous medical romance tells the story of Logan and Dale as they struggle with their physical and emotional traumas in their past and learn to trust and accept themselves and each other. Another great workplace friends to lovers success from Nolan. This book can be read or listened to as a standalone (though seriously why would you when books 1 L.A. Metro and 2 In a Heartbeat are equally great books). I can only hope she chooses to continue this series sometime in the future. Angela Dawe once again brings the characters and story to life with her narration.

Very gripping story!

My fave book in the LA Metro Series. Very well written, and again, Angela Dawe is on point with the narration.

A great conclusion to the three books

This was a great book, loved the characters the story line, even the woof woof of the Great Dane.
Narration as always when Angela Dawe is the narrator was great.

Really good 👍 xxx If 6 stars could be given them

First time I've listened to a book by this author and is now on my top 3 .. Listened to it in almost one go (Through the night!) Very well written, with real emotion and deep characters xxx Had to slow the narration down a little but absolutely no issues with telling one character from another, and sounds like a real conversation rather than a prepubescent over excited dormouse! Just bought the other 2 in this series, I enjoyed it so much xxx More than worth a credit xxx

A Rare Treat

I really enjoyed reading about women who aren’t perfect physical specimens/ gorgeous beyond words. One of the themes of this story being the insecurities that can arise from worries about our physical appearance, was I thought, sensitively explored leaving the reader with the encouragement of knowing that those insecurities can be overcome. Hence…..this book was for me a rare treat.

Loved this book

The 3rd novel in this series and it didn’t disappoint. The main characters battling the mental blocks that were stopping them from letting themselves be in a happy relationship were so well written. I loved Dale and Logan are now one of my favourite lesbian romance couples. Hoping for more in this series so I can find out how they’re doing

Overcoming trauma

The main characters were wounded souls and it was very satisfying to join them on their journey to recovery. It was very illuminating with respect to veterans and their injuries. Very well narrated by Angela Dawe.

Performance Takes it - And Drake

Honestly, Angela Dawe could read the dictionary and I think she'd make a 5 star review.
My favourite out of the series, Drake makes the story.
