Awesome

Tears of joy, tears of grief. A truly moving epic adventure. I came to know the characters so well that I was truly saddened whenever one of them died. Jeff Kohanek has written a classic tale that will entertain for years to come. Travis Baldree’s narration is also a gem.

a good listen

If you are a fan of old school JRPG's this book series plays out following a similar path of story-telling, fantasy elements, etc. As a fan of such, I greatly enjoyed this series as a break from the COVID world for a light-hearted fantasy jont. Thanks to author and audiobook performer both!

Lost some of its magic

While Jeffrey L. Kohanek's prose continues to be very good, this last book of the series seemed rushed and contained several sections that were head-scratchers. One where a MC wizard after having endured slights and betrayals their entire life goes into known confrontational meeting with another wizard without security and not only doesn't raise a shield but allows themself to leave their back open for attack.. The whole plot-arc between Jace, Narine and the female Order of Sol operative was so simplistic as to be uninteresting. The last bit of disappointment was the clumsy way the author decided to end the story. In one case, a MC queen decided on marrying her lover but only give her to-be-hubby the title of prince instead of king. You know, the way throne royalty marriages works ... no where ever! The other MCs also had the females in the dominant role. As I stated, it was clumsy.

Even so, the author had did a good job of completing the series and tying-up most loose ends so it's worth the credit if you've invested and enjoyed the previous books as I had.

Outstanding!!!

As a movie fanatic, this is the first book or even franchise I've listened too and that I had to keep reminding myself it's on audible not Prime or Netflix everytime I came back to it. 😂

I love how I could relate to some of the characters and love how their own stories concluded together it fitted perfectly. definitely a good listen too and definitely recommend. The narrating and the different voices were on point too.

if you get approached by a director or producer do not turn it down 😁
