Ok, but nothing special. +points for rec. blooper

The story is ok, but I just didn't really get exited enough to look forward to listen further. I can't unfortunately pinpoint why this story didn't grip me unlike some others written by this author. Maybe just wasn't for me. It's great to have a male and female voice actresses to help you immerse yourself in the world, and I truly appreciated that. But somehow all the female "voices" sounded all the same. It was very hard to know who was talking at times. The male voices were quite easy to differentiate, but I somehow found the main male characters "voice" slightly annoying. Voice actors, if you happen to read this, don't get it wrong, I appreciate your work. And I loved the blooper during the first sex scene towards the end of chapter 9 (of the audiobook). I think I listened to that blooper at least 10 times laughing hard.

Always look forward to Eric Vall's books.

This series has a much more realistic tone than his other books. Strong world building with good character development. Focused on apocalyptic survival and military tactics. Enjoyed the listen. Looking forward to the nest book in the series.

Good book!

The one thing that caught my eye the most is the proper use of survival techniques, the way the character teaches his team is surprisingly simple. Now me being a pervert i enjoyed the other aspects of the story as-well. I look forward to the next in a hopefully long series!

A fantastic first installment

I was honestly hesitant to pick up this series but I can honestly say it was worth it. If you enjoy Slice of life or survival or harem elements are all with in this book. well there is not a lot of Action there is a little bit of it. All the characters feel different and all go threw varies degrees of trouble adapting but really begin doing so nicely.

Apocalypse meets Man of the House

Great start for a series. Think Tommy Lee Jones’ “Man of the House” and the reality of an EMP aftermath. Just enough romance to show the reality of a lack of choices without distracting from the great survival tips. The very descriptive way of telling the reader about the necessary items and procedures for long term survival and the skills needed to do that makes this an entertaining introductory education into prepping.

3hrs in and no plot

I like harem books as much as the next guy, but I do need so kind of plot to follow. Admittedly I didnt finish, but in the three hours I read the only objective was to survive. Which was interesting for a little while but if there isn't any conflict other than survive it gets kinda boring. Edit: As I continued to think about why I like other harem fantasies and not this one. The answer becomes very apparent, the women in this story (for as far as I got) offer little to nothing. There characters are pretty faces and that get old very fast. They dont have any personality to them.

Fantastic audio book!

Great story and narration by the voice actors! Compelling characters and the story isn't particularly tqrim like so many post apocalyptic stories. A lot of fun to listen to, looking forward to book 2!

children's book

This book has no depth to it. No surprise s or twists. But author did add a few graphic sex scenes to draw in suckers.

An Erotic Novel With a Good Story?

As something of an Erotic Novel enthusiast I was a little sceptical when I first picked up Without Law. The idea of a survival harem story just smacked of teenage boy fantasy fulfilment to me. How very proud am I to say I got that assumption 'completely' wrong. Tav, Anna, Paige, Bayley and Tera are all fantastically fleshed out and realistic character's. They play only lightly, if at all, on the tropes you expect from them, and make realistic decisions in a way that is consistent to a human being, not a stagnant stereotype. I will be honest here and this was the first Erotic Novel I have listened to in a while where I actually wanted to bypass the sex scenes and get back to the character's story, they are that well developed. Congratulations Eric Vale on constructing the foundation for an engaging and exciting series. If you could get your sex scenes on par with your storytelling you would be the ultimate Erotic author.

Scifi?

Not my usual read, near future sci-fi, rambo, sexy. Selected for "artwork" difficult to stop listening to, infact purchased book 2 & 3 within 7 days! Needed to hear the outcome! If you want a light break from current dystopian doon and gloom, I would highly recommend.

Just ten minutes in - oh dear

I guess the "editor" has become an unnecessary expense. The need for one is really emphasised by "Audio". Something that slipps by in print, becomes ... The reading? Lacks subtlety. And two voices aren't necessarlily better than one. This shouldn't be a radio play.
