Publisher's summary

Tav and his team of badass warrior women have new allies, and those allies need them to help contend with even greater dangers.

Resources are dwindling, so maintaining control over important ones is a matter of life and death.

Especially when the resource is gasoline, and the oil refinery that can provide an unlimited amount.

Can't wait to see how it goes

Definitely a lot of build up to set up Brody, who feels like the next villain for the group to contend with. Though I did enjoy seeing how the EMP is affecting more parts of the country. Hopefully, more information will be found regarding the EMP

Great Series of Books

I absolutely enjoy the voice of the narrators, very skilled and easy to listen and fall into the story. I loved all 10 books and desperately need book 11. keep them coming.

indecision

I feel like the main character has been very decisive in his decision making up until this point and then now he has just because he knows this guy he has to be more careful about it doesn't feel right

WORST IN THIS SERIES YET!!!!!

This is a very pitiful attempt at writing a story. First off, even an uneducated fool reading this can easily read the context of the situations or the undercurrents the fool of a writer tries to hide behind long strings of meaningless words and stupid sex scenes!!! Vall is a PATHETIC writer!!! He is god awful!! Second thing, Vall has NO FREEKING CLUE about an Infantryman and why he fights!!! I never fought for my country, its ideals, for mom and apple pie and all that other bullcrap civilians say. But Marines, REAL Marines, combat Marines fight for their existence and for the lives of the guys with them and or the people they might or might not be protecting!!! I know from years of personal experience!!
Thirdly, HE DONT KNOW JACK ABOUT HAND WASHING CLOTHES AND DRYING THEM WITHOUT ELECTRICITY AND MACHINES!!!!!!!
Fourthly, we DO NOT call the 50cal sniper rifle a 50cal sniper rifle or a Berrete or any of the ridiculous names he calls them in this book!!! In the Corps it is a SASR. That is a Special Application Scoped Rifle!! I dont know what the army calls it but it sure ain’t nothing ridiculous like he thinks it is. This simply shows the author’s LACK of knowledge on the subjects he writes about! I could list 100 discrepancies like this within each book!!! It is annoying and gets old quick!
He still has not figured out how to write a conversation between two or more characters and denote which character is speaking without having to add “character said” after every time a character speaks. That is the worse thing anout his writing!! It is so god awful irritating and overly ignorant sounding by having to hear “so and so said” every other sentence! He literally uses the word said hundreds of times in each book!!!! Who in their right mind thinks they are decent writers when spitting out such garbage??? No one!!
Now, with the main character having supposedly trained his girls and all ofnthe life and death situations they have been through, the author still has them panicing and running around acting like they are still a bunch of worthless civilians again!! It is unrealistic!!! They would be calm, maintain their ability to think and intelligently think their way through a situation!! People that panic generally die in serious situations.
He also doesn’t know jack about seasoning wild game and making it taste good.

Usually love this series

I usually love this series, but as smart as Tav is the author totally lost me on how he made him just go along with Brody and excuse all the major warning signs from the get go. It just totally didn't make any sense at all.

I'm so confused

Like I don't know what happened in this book and what the author was thinking. It went from Tav and the girls being fairly calm and collected and smart about how they did things to them just blowing off every sign that Brody is a bad person. Like the man literally said that he loves how the world is now and feels that he deserves to take whatever he wants.Yet Tav just basically forgets that that the man said this. Tav was literally mentally telling himself that this man is crazy and yet oh he seems decent enough . So far I'm only about 3 hours into the book and it's very hard to listen to right now. It's very irritating and hard to follow. Nothing like the other nine books. I just don't understand why the author decided to go down this path. It's obvious that Brody is going to be the big bad of this story arc so why have the MC's butter up to him. I really hope it gets better because I like the series but if it continues like this I'm done with it.

What happened

I read all nine books and loved every one of them. The story is more than decent and the characterization and interactions between Tav and his community is on point. But this book was a slog with the weird interactions between Tav and Brody.

Despite all the evidence indicating that Brody was an asshole and a bad person Tav and the gang just brushes it off and act as if he might be a decent person. This book just confused the hell out of me and I'm not sure if I will be returning to this series.
