On my last stakeout for Quest Investigations, I nearly got clotheslined by a grove of angry dryads. I expected my bosses to reprimand me, but instead they handed me my first solo assignment. Me! Matt Steinitz, the only human on the Quest roster! Okay, so the mission isn’t exactly demanding. Obviously, the bosses wanted to give me something they think I can’t screw up. I’m determined to show them what I can do, however, so I dive right in with no complaints.

Dragons are real, they're now living among us, and I'm the lucky realtor who gets to sell a house to their leader. I just have to impress his representative first. No problem—I'm a professional. Publisher's summary
When supernatural secrets collide, it’ll take more than coffee to brew the perfect love.
When Ky Hernández bonded with his familiar, Zuri, his life changed forever. Their connection turned him into a practicing witch and led him to his calling as a medimagical professional. However, it totally tanked his love life - what guy would settle for eternal second place behind a parrot?
So, Ky keeps his witchy nature under wraps and sticks to hookups with humans, which can never go anywhere. But the mouthwatering barista at the coffee shop next door makes him thirst for more than a caffeine fix.
The charms Ewan Jones uses to appear human are inconvenient, disorienting, and necessary. Ewan and his siblings are achubyddion, metaphysical healers whose powers are coveted by unscrupulous supernatural beings.
And let’s face it: All supes are unscrupulous, given the right incentive. He’s grateful for the protections that hide his little family and for the barista job that keeps them housed and fed. He’s just so lonely. And his regular Ky, the super-hot, commitment-averse EMT, seems like the perfect candidate for a one-night shot at intimacy. After all, humans are no threat.
It takes a clumsy coffee shop intern, a mysterious werewolf epidemic, and one snarky parrot to unravel their pasts - and give them a chance at a future.

MM Fantasy Romance
This was a sweet and rather intriguing read. I have read the first of the Fae out of Water series, but I have not read the first of this, and while I think it definitely would have added to the story, it can be read as a standalone. I very much liked Ewan from the very beginning. He was endearing and just wanted to be there for his brother and sister, but he also wanted so much more, and could see the world where he could do that. He took risks, and while they did not always pay off, they did help him realize what he wanted his life to look like. Ky was a bit harder to like, but if I read the first book, I think it would have helped. He seemed very pretentious and just overly jerkish IMO. But, I did like her by about the 40% mark, so that was great. I also really enjoyed the mystery of this weird disease that was going around, and how they solved this, and everything just came full circle. I definitely could have used a ton more steam, this was low on the steam scale for sure. I will definitely be going back to read book one. This was narrated by the lovely Greg Boudreaux and he did a fantastic job, per usual.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Intriguing & Magical!
I enjoyed this book immensely, I am not sure how this is my first book written by E.J. Russell, I can only say it definitely won’t be my last. Clearly, she is a gifted author with a brilliant mind, I loved the originality of the story and the imaginative world she created filled with equally imaginative characters and supernatural beings. I liked I could enjoy this story without a prior knowledge of the earlier books, though I would say those who are familiar with the world already will feel at home. Ms. Russell’s character development and world building is phenomenal, so even a newbie like myself could walk away with a better understanding of the characters and the world they live in. I adored both lead characters, Kentucky “Ky” Hernandez and Ewan Jones, there are some fabulous secondary characters too. Ky does not do relationship, he is a witch who is bonded with his familiar, Zuri, a parrot and does not think anyone would put up with being second her. Having flings with humans works for him, no commitments no expectations. He works at the hospital as an medimagical professional, an EMT. Ewan works as a barista at the coffee shop near the hospital and he has captured Ky’s attention. Ewan hides what he truly is, he an achubydd, which is no ordinary supernatural, he believes that he, his sister and brother are the last of their kind, that is one of the reasons they fear their safety. Achubydd are healers in a metaphysical way they can also feel what others are feeling. Ewan really wants to get close to someone, he wants to lose his virginity too. When Ky asks him on a date he accepts, the two hit it off, Ky wants more, Ewan does too but he knows better so he avoids Ky. But that does not last long, the chemistry between them was undeniable and Ewan had to see him again. When something happens to his younger brother Ewan has to take a leap of faith and trust Ky and ask him for his help. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is brilliantly plotted with plenty of drama, a touch of angst, some great humor and witty dialogue, twists and turns, mystery, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance. E.J Russell thank you for this wonderful story, I am looking forward to checking out more of this amazing series.
🎧📚🎧And for the fabulous narration, Greg Boudreaux’s talents has no bounds. He does an outstanding job portraying these characters. He has a complete understanding of the characters he is playing, gives them the perfect voice for each one, sounding believable and just as I picture them to sound. He handles the witty dialogue with ease, switches character roles effortlessly with out missing a beat. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for another awesome listen.
Thank you #GRR

Fun paranormal story
I loved Russell’s Fae Out of Water series so I was happy to find this one is part of that universe. I loved both characters. Ewan was sweet and I loved the way he took care of his family. Ky was stubborn when it came to opening himself up to a relationship. He thought he would never be able to have love because of his familiar Zuri. I loved Zuri! Zuri added some humor to the story. These 2 men finally realize it’s not all or nothing. If you’re looking for a low angst paranormal story with some steam and humor you should check out this spin off series. While you don’t need to read the Fae Out of Water series to enjoy this there are characters from that series that appear in this one.
Greg Boudreaux is amazing as usual. His Zuri is awesome.

Ewan and Ky
Ewan is fantastic. Fear has ruled his life for so long it's stolen it. His protective instincts war with his healing nature. Ky is positive he can't have a real relationship. All of his excuses made me roll my eyes. They each help the other break down the barriers holding them back. The mystery and intrigue are very well done, weaving through the story without losing the romance. I loved all the local references. Ky's parrot Zuri was a bright spot of humor.
Audiobook: Excellent narration! Greg Boudreaux is one of my favorites.

Can’t Get Enough of this World
I really hope EJ Russel continues with the interweaving stories in the Fae out of Water Universe. Although reading/listening to the other books are not necessary, as this is a standalone story by itself, the experience is definitely enriched of you’ve read the other books.
I love the intricate universe she has created and this latest addition was just as awesome.
As always Greg Boudreaux’s narration is spot on, giving life to the characters. I hope there’s more to these series!

A flirty witch is the best kind of witch
Another paranormal love story from EJ Russell and this listener gobbled it up all in one go! I didn’t read the first book in the series but was able to enjoy this book as a stand-alone but I think it would help a bit if you have read some of Russell’s previous paranormal romances before.
A love story between a witch and an achubyddion (which I have never heard of before), this was fun, sexy, funny and as always, my treehouse abs intriguing. Ky’s life changed forever when he bonded with his familiar Zuri the Parrot. He’s witty and flirty by nature but he knew dating for him wouldn’t be as easy since which men would settle for the forever second place behind a familiar prrot. And Ewan is an achubyddion who’s in hiding from supernatural beings who coveted their natural powers and massacred his entire clan and are now hunting for his siblings and him. He’s already grateful enough that he’s alive and kicking but he’s so woo lonely. Ky’s a regular at his coffee shop and a human (or so he thought) who’s very flirty and fun so Ewan thought there’s no harm in giving it a go with Ky. And then he realized how wrong he was.
Fun, sexy, intriguing and absolutely hilarious! Loved, loved it! This is actually a bit low on the steam and a bit heavier on the world building and paranormal stuff. Nevertheless, really enjoyed it. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I have decided to check the first book. Highly recommended if you like light paranormal romance!

Great book and great addition to the series! I liked all the new characters and loved all the cameos. The plot was really interesting and I thought that all the new developments were great. The narrator did a fantastic job bringing the story and the characters to life! I really adore this world.

Wonderful mix of paranormal and reality
I enjoyed the first book in this series immensely and was glad to see some characters from that one returning. What I particularly enjoyed about this book was the combination of paranormal/supernatural aspects with the medical and healing arts. Initially, both main characters are hiding their abilities from each other so that they cannot be abused by evil characters. It was fun watching them slowly figure out the secret and then team up to use their powers for good and to develop their relationship. I look forward to seeing more careers with the supernatural mix added in as the world building continues in future volumes. There's nothing to be said about Greg Boudreaux's work that hasn't been said innumerable times before. His talent for various voices, his minute attention to and care with the details and his emotional range continue to put him at the top of audiobook performers.

Witches and Achubyddion and Werewolves – Oh My!
I don’t read many paranormals, although that seems to be changing of late. I’m on an E.J. Russell kick, and this is my fifth book by her. I’m immersing myself in these stories, but parts are still very new to me. Like a witch’s familiar. Kentucky (Ky) Hernández is a witch and his second is a mouthy parrot named Zuri. I loved Zuri. Apparently a familiar takes top billing in a witch’s life, so Ky only hooks up with humans – hiding his real nature of course.
Ewan is an achubyddion. I only found out what that was from the last series, Fae out of Water. A type of mythical healer. Ewan believes he and his siblings are the only ones left in the world so they must block their true nature. But a guy’s gotta make a living, so Ewan toils away in a coffee shop instead of healing like his soul is demanding he do. He’s naïve and inexperienced, but when Ky offers to show him the way things are between men, he’s game. Except when he discovers Ky’s true nature, he runs. Because supes and witches and all other creatures will destroy Ewan and his family – or so he believes.
Then one of his co-workers is injured and Ewan has to make a choice – save someone he cares about and risk discovery, or let the young one die.
Add to this chaos a virus taking out werewolves and things get very complicated. I got to see many of my old friends (Alan and David as well as Tanner and Chase) and meet some new ones as well. I got my happy ending and I hope there will eventually be more books in the series – hello, Jordan HAS to get a happy ending! I remember Jordan from the last book. The clumsy young werewolf who loves frisbees. It’s nice to see he’s making his way in the world, but he’s also a bit of a disaster.
Loved Greg Boudreaux’s narration. Loved the book. Can’t wait for more.

Loved it.
Great addition to the series. Fell in love with the characters. Loved tbe way this book tied into so much of the past events in the same world from an entirely new perspective. Without requiring reading the rest of the related books to stand alone. Fantastic job crafting the story, wonderful narration. Great read.

Worth the listen!
I really, really enjoyed this listen. It was quite the quirky surprise for me, in fact.
This might be my first EJ Russell book, but it sure won't be my last. I adored the seriousness of the story that went along with the fun, flirty characters. It was witty and wry, very sweet, and very smartly written.
Definitely one worth picking up!

Coming Out of Hiding
Witch Under Wraps is the second book in the Mythmatched series, and technically, it can stand on its own. However, it is part of a bigger series known as the Mythmatched World. The Mythmatched World is composed of three series beginning with Fae Out of Water series, then the Supernatural Selection series, and finally the Mythmatched series. I highly suggest reading all the books in order to really enjoy the richness of the world building and getting a feel for all the amazing characters’ backstories. This series has to be one of my favorites, and I have definitely re-read these books multiple times.
Witch Under Wraps is just as fun and engaging as all the previous books in the series. There is a lot of action, worldbuilding, and great character development. Ky is a witch who is a self-proclaimed commitment-phobe. He prefers his encounters to be string-free and easy going – it’s what works for him. However, when he meets Ewan, there’s just something about the handsome barista that Ky can’t shield against. Soon Ky finds himself attempting to help save the supernatural population from a mysterious illness while also untangling all the secrets that make up Ewan’s life. The romance in this book is a bit light, but the intensity in the relationship between Ewan and Ky makes up for that. There’s also some very sexy intimate scenes that definitely spiced up the pages. I really enjoyed the focus E.J. Russell put on the importance of relationships not only between Ewan and Ky but also with all their friends and family. Every book in this series just gets more and more fascinating, and I hope the author continues to write more in this universe.

What a great listen.
I really enjoyed this listen. Great world-building and characters that I liked. I felt the chemistry and wanted the HEA. The mystery was good as well, though wrapped up a little quickly in a neat now. I've listened to the prior series but not the first in this series. I’ll remedy that once I whittle my tbl’s pending. Greg did a fantastic job of narrating.

An incredible treat!
I am such a huge fan of EJ Russell's books that I have read every single book written by her, so I was happy to discover that the Universe that started with the Fae out the water series, continued with Mythmatched, and now we have another book to continue the plotline. I loved everything about this new book, how many of the characters of the previous series made an apparition in this story, how Ky and Ewan complemented each other and how their worlds collided as they need to overcome their own prejudices and many misunderstandings to be together and of course, how it opened a whole new angle in the captivating plot of this Universe. Of course after enjoying this book in its ebook version, the audio version was a must. Mr Boudreaux made an amazing performance, with his nice voice, great acting skills and an agile narration, that really brought the characters alive. (sorry for the cliché). It was an incredible treat, not just to have read but heard this perfect little part in this wider paranormal world.
