Hilarious!

Hilarious and heartfelt, Single White Incubus followed Ted and Quentin who were never supposed to meet except for a slight error on their signed-in-blood marriage certificates. A love story with cute moments and hilarious hijinks, I’d highly recommend it.

it was really intriguing and I loved Ted but Quentin was annoying a lot of the time and very dramatic but overall good listen. Narration was good

Fantastical mixed up tale of the perfect match!

Supernatural Selections. Guaranteed to give you the perfect match. This story begins a series of fun fantastical tales. The story is fun, intriguing, full of unusual and quite entertaining circumstances. Two quite opposite characters who don’t exactly fit the mold of “typical” for their species have been contracted (and signed in blood!)as ‘the perfect match’ for each other. Their Supernatural Selections contract ends in a magically induced divorce. However, even though there is an arrest and court case, love shines a light for the two who have, through trial and time, come to love each other. A solidly written, supernaturally fun tale narrated with perfection by Greg Boudreaux!

I'm dying - send an ambulance

I've been cackling for days listening to this. It's super refreshing and simply fun. There's tension but you're not pulling your hair out. If you're on the fence definitely pick it up!

Perfection - Favorite author and favorite narrator!

E. J. Russell writes some of my all time favorite characters, and makes them so real I expect to turn around and find them living in my neighborhood. This book has everything, from humor to suspense, to those incredible moments that make me hold my breath as I flip pages late into the night.
Greg Boudreaux gives voice to these amazing characters as if they were written just for him. I wish I didn’t have to wait for the next audiobook installment in this series, Vampire With Benefits.

Very cute - and less superficial than expected.

This is a very interesting “meet cute” setup when an incubus who is supposed to be marrying a vampire accidentally gets dropped off to a bear shifter’s secluded cabin. Apparently some clerical error at the supernatural matchmaking agency has resulted in the two of them being married to each other instead of to their intended matches. The incubus is worried about potentially draining the life force from his partner, and is therefore looking for someone who is not “technically“ alive. The bear shifter needs a partner to take care of, share his life with, keep him on task, and help him build his retreat center in the mountains.
Now they need to use the magically binding contract’s escape clause in order to be able to marry their “perfect matches”. Unfortunately, it means they need to spend several weeks together before their marriage contract can be terminated. They have to gather all the items for the termination ritual together.
During that time they find that they have more in common than they thought, and they start to help/rely on one another.
Unfortunately, now that they have initiated the termination clause of their contract, they will never be able to see each other again once the ritual is complete.

Enjoy a fun ride through the challenges of a new and unexpected relationship, and see how the pair manage to resolve their own personal challenges, as well as their unintended union.

*Also, I really enjoy the narrator. I have listened to several books he has read, and he always does a good job.

- Minor annoyances - TBH this is super nitpicky, but there is some redundancy in terms of Quentin (incubus) freaking out constantly about potentially hurting a living partner… it’s understandable, but I think maybe a touch on the overkill side narrative wise.
Also, they refer to supernaturals/beings in the supernatural community as “Sups” (like soups), it’s cute, but in formal settings like a wedding or court case the casual abbreviation sounds a bit incongruous.

Not what I thought it was, It was so much more.

This was my first book from E. J. Russell and I am so glad I gave it a try. I really wish I had access to books like this when I was young. It is part cute, part heartfelt, and part steamy. The story is super cute in a really good way. The writing was great and the narration was spot on. I normally like LitRpg books but gave this a try and now cant wait to get the next one.

Utterly lovely and charming

I could not love this book more. I'm not going to rehash the plot. I just found it utterly charming, funny, sweet, sexy, twisty, and suspenseful. I loved the characters, (those that one is meant to love, anyway). They're not perfect in every way, but that would be boring and they're just so darn likeable.
I heartily recommend listening to/reading the previous series, Fae out of Water, as it is directly related. Some of those characters also made appearances and I really loved seeing them.
Greg Boudreaux's narration was perfection. I really, REALLY hope that the next book in the series will be out in audio with Greg narrating, and that it'll be soon.

Simultaneously cute and aggravating MCs

Sometimes a story will come along that's both cute and aggravating. This is that story. The MCs are adorkable and sweet, independently. But when they get together, they're both so willful and oblivious that you just want to shake them! Luckily, their friends and family nudge them for us and our heroes finally find their HEA.  The subplot is interesting and there's a tiny bit of mystery, too, just to keep it lively.

Greg Boudreaux narrates these two excellently and voices a great supporting cast of side characters.

A few characters from a related series do make an appearance, but you don't have to have read those to enjoy SWI.

This one falls in the "light and fluffy fantasy/PNR" category and fills that niche beautifully. Looking forward to the next one.
