On December 21, 2012, according to the Mayan Calendar, the world was supposed to end. It didn't. But on that day, 113 mysterious manuscripts were discovered around the world, each one written in blood by an unknown author. After several dozen unexplained deaths befell the finders of said manuscripts, a decision was made to lock them up for good in a secret vault beneath the Vatican. It is said that anyone who reads the stories will die, and as such they are now referred to as "The Cursed Manuscripts."

In December 2020, new manuscripts started turning up around the world.

Manuscript 12.20-01, discovered May 2021 in Aldershot, United Kingdom, by local rambler, Bryan Potter. Bryan Potter died one week later due to an undiagnosed heart condition. The following text was found carved into his back.

In an effort to escape some local bullies, best friends, Ashley and Jude, decide to brave Devil's Ditch, a place deep in the woods that everyone says is haunted. There's a naked woman chained up inside. Her name is Rose, and there's something not quite right about her.

Iain Rob Wright is Cool

Ian Rob Wright is actually pretty cool- a possibly perfect balance - the swearing is perfectly realistic and "normal" like a down to earth protagonist. everything is mixed in seamlessly. Nothing seems ridiculous like it does with some authors. I'm gonna read more books by Wright.

GREAT short story’

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was a pretty Good short story that kept me entertained. Will DEFINITELY go on to the next book in this series.

Good story

I liked it. Good length. Fun story. It was about children but I don’t feel like it was a young adult book or do I agree with others that the ending was ambiguous.. I would’ve liked it to be more of a fairytale ending I guess but I think everything was wrapped up nicely.

Creepy and entertaining

The story starts off a little slow, however the background off the characters and their interactions is needed to bring them to life. I enjoy a good witch story and this was one of them.

A Scary Fun Time

Iain never disappoints. Great characters with a well developed and entertaining story. Performance is stellar. Detailing the emotions and providing enough voice changes to texture the performance and give the great story life.

Loved this story and highly recommend. If you like which stories this one is a new approach.

The cursing

The story was good but the cursing was a little too much for me. You can tell a good story without having to use expletives every other word

Not much here

This was Ok, although it almost felt like it wanted to be a YA novel. It wasn’t worth the purchase for me. I can’t say this was one of his best (that I’ve read anyway). It lacks in a number of ways and isn’t really satisfying. I was disappointed, I expected more based on his earlier writing. Unfortunately, I won’t be reading anymore in this series and can’t say I’d recommend this to anyone.

Written by a teenager?

Cardboard characters, simple story, lots of talk about breasts, no development of story or characters. Not a horror story, just some gore.
