Publisher's Summary

This complete set includes all four books in the Wish Quartet - over 30 hours of magic, romance, forgotten gods, and plot twists!

Josephina Espinosa woke up on her last day alive knowing three things:

  1. This was supposed to be her last job.
  2. Magic wasn't real.
  3. The Society of Wishes definitely didn't exist.

She was so, so wrong.

Now she's the newest member of the very Society she thought was only a legend. Her work is only just beginning. And Jo must earn her place among her new team by helping grant wishes using powerful, destructive magic within her.

Jo is used to having a lot on her plate. What she's not used to is following orders - especially when they come from the mysterious and sexy leader of the Society, Snow.

When Jo directly ignores Snow's orders to save the life of her best friend, she learns that there's much to the Society she still doesn't understand. Everyone has their secrets.... And none may be deadlier to discover than her own past.

Slow...Not Really For Me

The author is good. The development however as a few reviewers honestly noted, is painfully slow in Book one. Not boring towards the middle and picks up at the end. I've not listened to the whole set as I have to make myself listen to the first book. Honest review. Disappointed because I DO see the world and plot building, it’s just too drawn out In book one. Hopefully, I can pick this set up again and get through the series for a full review.

Great World Building

This provides you with hours of entertainment! You won't want to stop listening. The narrator was very entertaining and easy to listen to. This had a lot happening and a lot that to keep you engrossed.

Not my style

Couldn't get into this story at all, just not the style of book I was hoping for I guess. Seems to be pretty well written a narrated! Just wasn't for me! Wish I could return it for something else though.

A wonderful magical book

I loved the narrator! She did such a good job on the characters. She defiantly kept me invested and was enjoyable. I also loved the story. It was such a neat twist with magic as the source of our ever changing world. I loved the friendships and love story, as always it kept me very engaged to the books. I would defiantly recommend these books to anyone adult reader who likes magic, a little mythology and some romance.

Well performed intriguing story

Very enjoyable plot line. Overall, the story is well thought out and keeps your attention. There are parts where it drags, but it quickly picks up again. It's nice to have the entire series in one recording. The story is set in a future timeline and dimension. I thought I had the series figured out in the first book, but I had no clue how the story would twist and turn and ultimately end up in a whole new world.

Progressively better

At the beginning of the first book it presents as a mash between sci-fi and fantasy. There is a lot of tech and a post-modernist world but in a time of extreme need magic presents itself. As the stories and books continue it becomes much less sci-fi and much more fantasy. The first book seemed more like a 2.5/5 for me. I could see that the authors were setting something up but it wasn’t enough to make me continue reading the series if it had not been for this box set audiobook. The book just seemed a bit underdeveloped. In the second one the world seems to open up a bit more and there is more of a driving force in the story. The third book is really where you get to the ‘meat’ of it all and start finding out the secrets and get more information on all the magic and the world. Then the fourth is where most of the action happens and the saving the world but coalesces. I will say that the story gets progressively better with each book as the world opens up more.

Great performance, good story

First of all, what a great deal! 33+ hours of listening for the price of 1 book!!! The narrator did an amazing job. You knew who each character was by their distinct voice and accent. I could feel each characters aura through her performance. It was impressive and made the book come alive! The story was good, but not my favorite. It took a while to hit the point where I really cared what happened. Eventually it did hit that point and I was glad to have the book on audio so I could devour it nearly nonstop. There are several sex scenes, which is not something I want to read or hear. But, we are all different and some people reading this review will be more excited to download it now. All in all I enjoyed my 33 hours of Wish Quartet

Absolutely incredible!

I loved the whole world that Kova and Larsh have created, set in the not to distant future, after World War III. To be honest with you I was just going to love any book which Elise Kova had a hand in writing. I loved the characters in this book, Jo the protagonist was fun to read and although I totally disagreed with what she was doing at times (she will not sit and listen to advice!!) I found that her reasons were sound even if she were a little rash and headstrong. The other characters were so unique and fun to read too, from the warm and welcoming Nico, to the enigmatic Snow. From first impressions, I thought I was going to love Pan, but surprisingly by the end I really disliked her. I am really interested to see how her character develops in later books – whatever happens I am sure it will be fab. I felt that the characters and the relationships between them were really intriguing and reading the members Society of Wishes I can’t wait to get to know them better and maybe find out a bit more about where and when they are all from. I found it really refreshing to read about a female character like Jo, who knows what she wants and goes and gets it for herself. (I am trying really hard not to give anything away here – so apologies for the vagueness) She is a problem-solver and she won’t let anyone talk her into sitting anything out. She was fun to read because she was so fiery and so bold. The system of magic and wishes which Kova and Larsh have created is incredible, it’s so unlike anything else I have read, wishes, time, watches, the whole Society itself. Wonderful! I loved it all. I can’t wait to read more about the system of wishes and to learn more about the magic each member of the Society possesses. I am also intrigued to learn about the fragmented America which is featured in the book too. The only niggle I have with the book is that it just wasn’t long enough – I wanted be more! I am totally nitpicking here, because I am sure we are going to get all that and more in the later books but I still feel like I wanted more background in this first book. I am going to finish off my review by saying this – I totally recommend this book, the whole series is incredible!
