Publisher's summary

Forbes Lighthouse is a dangerous place.

Twenty-year-old Molly McLaren agrees to tend the light when her father breaks his leg, so she leaves behind the city and her nursing career. Molly dreads the thought of three months as the sole inhabitant on the tiny island, 19 nautical miles off the rugged coastline of Augusta in Western Australia.

Molly discovers she enjoys the solitude, and when a massive storm arrives bringing a life raft, Molly risks her life to save the unconscious man inside. On waking, he says he has lost his memory but as Molly nurses him back to health, she wonders if he has. When the storm finally clears, Molly has fallen for the man she's nicknamed John, but still has doubts about his honesty.

The real danger arrives with two men who are searching for her mystery man. They want to kill him and anyone else who can identify them, and Molly quickly learns: On a lighthouse, there is nowhere to hide.

Good easy read

As always, a good story teller. Different than his scary stuff, but still a good story. Thanks Steven, and please write more for me to read.

A romantic thriller

A gripping romance thriller, written about the drama on a lighthouse in the 1950 s off the coast of Western Australia. Young Molly McLaren, a trainee nurse, takes over the operation of a lighthouse while her father recovers from an accident.
King paints a stunning picture of the life and activities, so different to the city life she is accustomed to, yet so tranquil and entrancing. That is until a horrendous storm approaches dumping an unknown young male upon the rocks, barely alive, with little recall of who he is and what brought him to this point.
Molly is torn by her attraction to the handsome young man and a suspicion which is heightened, as reports of a bank robbery in nearby Augusta begin to trickle in, and his memory slowly begins to fill in the blanks.
Now the drama begins, as she finds herself trapped on the lighthouse, with nowhere to go.
Yes Stephen B king is not "The Stephen King", he is a renowned author from Perth Australia, yet hundreds of listeners have enjoyed his works. He is an excellent dramatic writer, and I have loved his Glimpses series, about the inner workings of the mind of serial killers.

Quite slow in the middle

So, full discloser, I thought I was getting a book by American author Stephen King when I purchased this one. After listening for a while, I checked the info and realized my mistake. But, the book was pretty good, so I kept going. I'm a pretty big fan of Stephen King, but I've given up on a couple of his books in the past. So the fact I did not give up on this one is actually very telling.

This story has a really great beginning, and the ending kept me guessing the whole time. I can honestly say that I never could have predicted how the story concluded! That is always a welcome quality in a good story.

The author did seem to write himself into a bit of a corner in the middle section, however. Placing the entire action of the book on a small island with a lighthouse during a storm, there was not a lot for the characters to do. And setting the story during the chosen time period, there was only so far the romantic relationship could go without the main character disgracing herself. As a result, I did feel that a large section in the middle of the book got quite slow and seemed to drag.

Overall, though this story is not my usual preferred genre, I am happy I found it. It was an enjoyable read.

FRAUD!!! DECEPTIVE!!!

This is not Stephen King world class author but Stephen B KING a fake sucking a reader on when searching for new books by the Real Stephen King.

Don't be fooled.

Audible should flag this author and give a warning that this is an imposter.

Horrible

Not the Stephen King you expected. (Stephen B King) Worst writing of a female character ever. First audible book I had to quit before the end.
