meh

Not as engaging as the first two books. The back and forth between the glitching robots was irritating.

It's alright but kind of filler

The book is alright. The narrator does a fantastic job and has a wide range of voices. Even characters that only say a sentence or two get a unique voice.

My issue is all the policital posturing and xenophobia. I've read and listen to these books to have fun and get away from that stuff. Not for a simulation of most countries political climate.

The book probably could have been made into a few chapters in another book that made it feel like things moved forward more.

I did almost return the book because of the "malfunctioning" AI. It was okay for part of a chapter but it goes on for the whole book.

Entertaining Scifi

Enjoyable listen. Decent story with good characters. The science and technology is a bit out of date, but almost believable. And Luke Daniels is the absolute best there is, period!

Very disappointed. Filler, ending in a cliffhanger

I enjoyed books 1 and 2 a lot, but then I read a review that said book 3 ended with a cliffhanger. I therefore waited for book 4 to come out so I could read them back to back.

As it turned out, I was very disappointed in book 3. It really was nothing more than filler; hard to get thru and boring. I fought thru it, hoping and expecting book 4 to be very good. This book was totally unnecessary other than for Richard Fox and Josh Hayes to sell another book.

And to add to the frustration of a boring filler book, it ends in a cliffhanger. Not the wrap of the major plot for that book, but just pure and simple, the book ends in the middle of the story. I understand books in a series that wrap up a plot line for that book, while continuing the overall story in the next book in the series. But this one is as though they wrote a long book and then cut it in half. That's lazy writing and a ripoff for the reader. If you want me to buy the next book, write a better book!

I'm very disappointed in Fox and Hayes, and I'm hoping that they get back on track with book 4, the final book in the series.

I really enjoyed this production and story.

I am sure I will see this in a film eventually. great making for an amazing franchise. If you are looking for an easy to digest SciFi read... this will be a good fit. Just don't overthink it.

Loved it.

Great continuation of the story. Gov. Hale needs to be less Boy Scout and more soldier.

Another fine example of Story Telling

There is not much that I can add to the already glowing reviews other than my perspective on my own experience with the book. I found that at the end of the second book, I was looking forward to the third. But, when the third book started I was surprised to discover that I was completely uninterested in it. How did that happen? Well, I don't know. So this book had to work for it to say the least. I cannot begin to tell you how often I started to doze off during it. Not the books fault, nor the narrators, but more to the fact that it just didn't grab my interest. What really threw me was the introduction to new characters that fell flat for me. The odd story spacing also made it a chore for me to stay away while listening to this book. Overall, I enjoyed the book but just felt that it was Muh at best. Three stars and a must listen too if you are into the story, but otherwise, skip it.

I just keep buying them

The Ember War universe is expansive and I can’t get enough of these books. Although throughout, nothing is concluded in this book alone, there are a few streams of stories occurring simultaneously taking up the time available. Next one is now awaiting me.
