Story
I left my family and tiny Texas hometown 15 years ago to escape small-town gossips and to give my mom and sister the chance at a better life. But when a phone call from an attorney back home informs me that my sister passed away, leaving me custody of her newborn baby, I'm shocked out of the steady life I've built for myself running a tattoo shop in San Francisco. The thing is: I don't do babies. And I don't do small towns. Or commitment. And I especially don't do family.

Publisher's summary
Otto:
Seth Walker was my first love and I always swore he’d be my last. Even after he moved away our senior year in high school, we vowed to reunite after graduation. But when he suddenly broke things off without explanation and crushed my heart, it was my turn to run.
After a decade in the navy, I’ve finally come home ready to move on with my life as Hobie’s newest firefighter. Unfortunately, the minute I set eyes on the new sheriff in town, I know I’m screwed. Hobie’s top cop is none other than Seth Walker.
Turns out, he’s come home too. And hell if he doesn’t have a lot of explaining to do.
Walker:
I thought I was doing the right thing when I walked away from Otto Wilde 10 years ago without an explanation. I was wrong. I also thought I could come back home without having to face my past mistakes. I was wrong about that too.
What I’m not wrong about: The fact that my heart catches fire every time I set eyes on the sexy man. The fact that I can’t imagine my life without him. The fact that things are still just as complicated now as they were then. And the fact that I have a lot of work ahead of me if I expect to win him back.
Just when things start heating up between us again, a serial arsonist strikes and suspicion falls close to home. I already lost Otto to a secret long ago but I’ll be damned if I let another threaten to send our future up in smoke.
Because Otto Wilde is mine, and I don't plan on ever letting him go again.
Each novel in the Forever Wilde series can be heard on its own or as part of the series. Fair warning, there will be nekkid man parts touching, meddling patriarchs, sweet second-chance love themes, and a dearly departed donkey named Debbie Gibson.

Oh I love a rough alpha gay man who helps people for a living so getting 2 in one book was PERFECTION for me! A Fire Fighter and Police Officer who have always loved each other, this is a second chance romance and I am in love. Great story line, great characters and hot hot hot too.
The narration was good. I feel like a broken record when I always say the same thing about the same narrator but he just gets TOO excited during the sex scenes for me and it ends up sounding like he is mad rather than in pleasure.

Otto and Seth...sigh
Lucy Lennox hit it out of the park again. I love this series! The family dynamics are amazing. The Wilde family is a family I want to join. This book has all the feels...Otto is so courageous and brave. Seth is sweet. Both have this incredible sense of valor that you just sit in awe of them. If you haven't started this series, you truly need to. Michael Pauley, I think I have typed your name more than my own in recent months, simply to let others know how great you are at your job.

Forever Wilde #3
I love Second Chance romances, but I'm a hard sell with them too, especially when forgiveness is necessary. I require a lot of groveling, and that was definitely missing here.
Told in a dual POV the story begins with childhood sweethearts Seth Walker and Otto Wilde reuniting after more than a decade apart.
"Ten years. Ten years since I'd last seen the other half of myself, the boy I'd loved since I was eight years old and had fallen into the pond between our properties." -- Seth
There's very little explanation on Seth's part at first for cutting off all communication with Otto. Personally, the reason for their separation, which includes a whole lot of miscommunication, was problematic for me.
The chemistry between Seth and Otto is extremely apparent, but it just seemed that Otto forgave Seth very quickly and Seth got off a bit too easily (ha! No pun intended). The romance seemed to rely far more on Seth and Otto's young love, and the hot and heavy sex they have now they're reunited, rather than the development of the character's romance and their reasons for being together now. There just wasn't enough page time given to them getting to know each other as adults with all their baggage.
My biggest issue with Wilde Fire is, put simply, I am not a fan of ridiculous martyrdom behavior. First Seth's leading to their initial separation and then later Otto's in order to protect the arsonist.
Regardless of my personal peeves, this is a pretty intense and entertaining story. The suspense surrounding the arson was interesting and incorporated well into the rekindled romance. I love the supporting characters, and there's enough humor to simply make me a happy listener.
Wilde Fire was an entertaining listen. Michael Pauley uses distinctive character voices, which is impressive considering the large cast in the story. I found it an interesting choice on Pauley's part that even though both characters were raised in the same town, he doesn't use the same accents for both men, instead Seth's accent was more northern sounding, while Otto remained with a harder southern accent.
Recommended for those who like a Second Chance romance with lots of passion, a suspenseful side plot, a great supporting cast, and great narration who don't mind some miscommunication that's cleared before the HEA ending.
I'm really looking forward to Hudson's story and spending more time with the Wilde clan!

Walker, Wilde Slap Slap.
Walker made a promise that why he got married. But what about the promise he made to Otto. Jolie gets piss about Seth dating Otto to be honest jolie is a bitch a serious bitch. he shouldn't have married her if he was going to take on a father figure and be called daddy, yet points out that he's her uncle. Truly confusing.. Drives me crazy that he makes it clear that he's tisha uncle and not daddy Jolie took advantage of Seth's heart.
spoiler Seth had sex with her WTF .
Yet he calls her his daughter a few times.
Otto so needs to fine someone else.
To certain extent Seth was a bastard. felt what Seth did to Otto was inexcusable
Otto pain was the heartbreaking moments in the story. begging the love of his life to come back. I think Otto is a huge idiot. for forgiven him so easy.
I love SETH but marrying jolie raising a kid sleeping with his brother baby mom turn his Wife.
Seth could have been a uncle without marrying her. oh wait medical. call bullshit he could have add her to his insurance as his niece.Hell if he trust Otto the Wilde's would have help her.
The plot was Walker broke wilde heart 10 years ago . Yet spoiler get together by the first 3 chapters. Sad i spent money on this what happened to the plot. Yet Walkers married. WTF. Otto should so make him suffer.
Leave supposedly the love of your life. Otto has no self respect for himself. He should had at least. Held out longer.
Walkers pissed at Otto for leaving. Walker has the nerve to say shit about Otto. When Otto went to help felix. Jolie used him like that..And Seth parents suck big time. MMC martyrs is a huge joke.
I think Otto should had dated someone in front of him let him experience Otto's pain. if i didn't need the book to complete the series. i would return this. Jolie tells seth that their kid see Otto before the fire.
Seth family they implied, he needs his ex wife to watch his niece and nephew's. homophobes much.
In the person that was a fire bug should have paid more. they should have been billed for it plus time in jail.

Not all that great
I was pretty disappointed with this book. The narrator’s “accent” of a southern Texan was wayyyyy off and sounded much more like a redneck than a southern gentleman. All I could think about was two hillbillies with missing teeth that lacked intelligence. The narrator needs to learn the difference between hillbilly redneck and country. They both are from the south, but one has class. It was a major drawback to listening to this “love story”. Which brings me to another point, the storyline doesn’t really explain their relationship very well. It honestly didn’t feel like a relationship, other than FWB. I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but this book was way too geared towards sex. Even in times of emergency in the book, they’re constantly talking/thinking about each other sexually. It actually got annoying. If my child was in danger, I wouldn’t be thinking about having sex with my partner or about how nice his butt looked in his jeans.
Of course, this is all my opinion. Listen to it yourself if you can make it through...

I wanted to love this book.
OK first thing Michael Pauley always does a great job with his narration but my God this book just rubbed me the wrong way. Piture a beefy sheriff ans a beefy firefighter who are always crying at each other and wrap that up with a lazy plot and then a cliffhanger for an ending and you get this book. like I said Michael does a great job but if he cried one more time in this book I was going to get a refund. I'm not saying men should not cry but this was a bit much.
I have enjoyed the series so far with Felix and the Prince beong my favorite. This story just seem to be lacking in so many different ways.
The letters at the beginning of each chapter just become annoying and I feel like there's two parts of the story where there should have just been one.
I wish she would have focused on the family issues and ended with that or just focus on the fire issues and ended with that. there seems to be a lot of loose ends with both plot lines.
Also shame on her as a writer for assuming that any decent firefighter what allow an arsonist to get away no matter what the age. I don't want to give too much of the story away but as soon as I read that and saw what he was going to do I was like no.
if there's going to be another book I would suggest you read this one that way you're not blinded but be prepared to be like what the f***.

A sweet second chance romance!
Otto and Seth were always meant to be together, and I loved that we get to see them mature and grow during their time apart.
This was one of my favorites in the series and I absolutely adore this huge, warm and welcoming family clan
Michael Dean performed an amazing audio delivery and performance.
Definitely recommend this entire series

Seth and Otto’s story!
Narration: Michael Dean does an awesome job, as always! Especially the steamy scenes! Michael has a large range of voices and draws you right into the story.
Story: I first read this in 2018 and gave it 5 stars. It’s mainly because I was reading through this series and was sucked into wanting each Wilde’s story, but also because I really do love Otto and Seth’s love story. Unfortunately, upon listening to the audio in 2022, I realized that this is probably one of Lucy’s weakest books. There is so much going on with the plot and there are a ton of hateful, awful side characters. It all takes away from the romance and we don’t get much from the guys besides lots and lots of naked time. Which isn’t really a complaint, but we needed these guys to sit down and have more deep discussions! Don’t get me wrong, they do talk, but not enough for all the history between them. The romance is still believable and I loved these guys; I just wanted more time with them together without drama.
Meanwhile, you have side characters who are horribly nasty and homophobic and awful in every way. Seth and Otto spend a lot of time making excuses for these crappy characters. Like Seth stating his parents are kind and caring, but they never show that side of themselves, just the hateful and homophobic side. Say what? And then there’s a few things that Otto does that literally make no sense because apparently he prioritizes really silly things over making others face their consequences. (Keeping this vague because spoilers.)
And then there’s all the crap with Seth’s ex that I won’t even bother getting into. It wasted so much time that could have been spent on the romance!
Anyways, Lucy’s books are super hit or miss for me, and this one is moving into my miss pile. But hey, the cover is gorgeous, so there’s that!

2022 re-listen
Yeah, this is still one of my favourite books in the Wilde series. Otto and Seth's second chance is beautiful. Just how much each of these incredible characters is willing to sacrifice for the people they love gets me right in the feels every single time...love it!

A great romance
This was a great read as with this story the old romance restored and the suspense of the arsonist. Finding compassion for those who wrong us is a good lesson in life few get to explore. Thanks again for this great book.

Angst, Soulmates and so much more!
This is favourite book of the ‘Forever Wilde’ series so far. I really loved the mystery and the angst. These soulmates went though a lot to get their HEA. Loved the firefighter aspect too. Narration was great.

Scorching love and second chances!
Wilde Fire is book three in the Forever Wilde series. Forever Wilde is an MM romance series that follows the Wilde family and their journeys to their HEA.
Otto has loved Seth Walker since he was 8 years old...even after he moved away their senior year. They vowed they would be reunited. But after Seth suddenly broke things off Otto signed up for the Navy with his brother Saint.
Ten years later he returns home to find his first love his not only the sheriff but comes with some new complications.
Seth was convinced he was doing the right thing all those years ago. But he was crazy for thinking he could return to Hobie without facing Otto and the mistakes of their past.
Otto and Seth's story is very much a second chance trope. Throughout the story we get letters that were/weren't sent throughout their 10 years apart, I think that's one of my favourite parts of the story. The development over the 10 years of how the letters began to how the ended up.
Another great read from Lucy though. I do think the Forever Wilde series might just be my fave...

Forever Wilde Book 3
Otto and Seth had a long history together. There is a little heart break. A lot of laughs and a twist in the tale. Great read. A HEA and a really good story.

Lucy and Michael = Perfection
Lucy's book is amazing what Otto and Seth have had to endure for 10 years apart before once again meeting is awful but it has shaped them into the men they are today. Beautifully written. Michael just knows how to narrate they complement each over perfectly

He promised to never leave me. But when I needed him the most, that was exactly what he did. Wilderness guide Xander Reed has spent fifteen years trying to forget the night he turned to his best friend in his darkest hour, only to find the young man who'd sworn to always have his back was turning his on Xander instead. Two thousand miles and fifteen years of building a new life in the quiet backcountry of the Rocky Mountains should have been enough to put the memory of Bennett Crawford out of his mind.
