Publisher's summary

He’s growly. Grumpy. Stubborn. And now, my new roommate.

Walking away from my disastrous last relationship was an easy decision, but moving in with a friend-of-a-friend hockey star who’s rarely home? Not quite as simple, because Grant makes me feel all kinds of things I’m not prepared for.

Protected. Desired. Unsteady.

***

She’s beautiful. Smart. Tempting. And a little fragile.

I’ve never been anyone’s knight in shining armor, but when Ana needed a place to stay, it was easy to offer her a room with me.

Not so simple, though, is keeping my hands - or my mouth - to myself. And the night she crawls into my bed and shares her body with me? Heaven.

But she’s not looking for a relationship, and to my surprise, I find myself pissed off by that idea.

They say my heart is broken, that I’ll never settle down. I used to think that was true. Now, though? Hell, your guess is as good as mine.

First, she took my bed. Then she took my heart. Then she took my everything.

***

Your favorite hot jocks are back with an all new stand-alone novel. If you like sexy, confident men who know how to handle a stick (on and off the ice), and smart women who are strong enough to keep all those big egos in check, this series is for you!

Each book can be listened to as a complete stand-alone.

So Much Heart

I'm in love with the Hot Jocks series from Kendall Ryan and who couldn't be? Just enough hockey to give sports lovers a taste, but more importantly characters with so much depth. Giving a review of this book is so difficult because I don't want to give spoilers at all -- but the plot is so dang moving. Ana is in a situation that too many women find themselves in; therefore the story grabbed my heart and took it for a ride. Grant is the strong, silent, gruff Team Captain that we all want to know more about what goes on in that handsome head of his; Ms Ryan's writing does not disappoint with internal dialogue.

Then our author takes the writing up a notch and provides us incredible narrators in Virginia Rose & Joe Arden. Rose's Ana has so much depth, vulnerability and strength it's impossible not to fall into the story even more. I loved her chapters so much because her voice really brought to life the push back and forth Ana had towards Grant. Oh, and Grant.....sweet, quiet Grant. For such a quiet character Joe Arden brought so much emotion to the inner commentary that you really felt with him in his moments of anger, joy, sadness and love. Joe's declarations of Grant's love for Ana were truly remarkable. So Much Heart in this entire performance from two great narrators. And I can't wait for more from my Hot Jocks.

I love Kendall Ryan Books

My problem with this book is that regardless of how things happened the ending seemed shitty on Anna’s part. She seemed self centered and didn’t think about Grant at all. As sweet and wonderful as Grant is in handling the situation the way the book didn’t conclude is just highly unlikely you’d want to know even if it didn’t matter. Leaving that unknown bothers me. This is my least favorite in the series.

I really liked this one

This story was really good. It brought up and explored several good subjects. I loved finding out more about Grant. I totally fell for him. Teddy bear under the gruffness. My favorite line was why Grant liked Jordy the roomy best.

The way grant is described I actually looked up what size most NHL players are. 6’1” 190-200. Hot Jocks are all taller and heavier than that.

Also I discovered (all the guys except Jason who was an Alcoholic have awesome abs) because of how quick they have to turn and use the stick back and forth. It was also mention their thighs and glutes are the strongest on them.

Anyway it’s a good story and worth the credit.

Spoiler alert!

Liked Grant and Ana’s story but I could only give it 3 stars due to the cliffhanger. I dislike cliffhangers. It was frustrating for Hunter’s true paternity to be left to a guess “due to timing”. Timing is what I was thinking when the pregnancy was first revealed. If there was more than a couple weeks between being intimate with two different men Ana should have been able to definitely know who the father was. So the lame “timing”explanation in the epilogue was disappointing to say the least. Even with Grant saying it didn’t matter the author had to know it would be important to the reader. Hopefully it will be revealed in the next book.

Grant is a superstar

Love grant. The whole book I was finding myself rooting for him. His patience with the ever self involved Anna is nothing short of amazing. He deserves everything and more. Anna drove me nuts. Wahhhh I want to do it alone. Not even considering the fact that she doesn’t have to. I get it. But also I don’t. Grant literally did nothing but show care.

Super annoyed by Anna’s Character

**************Spoiler Alert*************

I absolutely love Grant in this story but there comes a point in the story you just want to shake him. He is too good for Anna and just seems pathetic by the end. I think Anna is self absorbed and absolutely annoying by the end of the book. I hate how the results of the paternity was handled in the storyline. I think it would have been more powerful to find out Jason was actually the father and Grant handled the situation the same way. To conclude this plot with Anna’s feeling and supposed timeline was just lacking, especially with how annoying she was by that point in the book. It would have been better to have Jason come back into the story instead of some random DUI car accident to handle his story. This book was just disappointing. I typically love Kendall Ryan’s books but save your money it could be skipped in this series.

Emotional

Another great story, bought to life with great narration. This story is very emotional including references to domestic abuse, though thankfully without going into graphic detail. It's a true testament to friendship and love through the good times and the bad, and having patience and understanding, whilst never giving up on what you want!

My least favourite

I love the hot jocks series but this one doesn't make the favourite list. I didn't like Ana's character, her treatment of Grant at times was insensitive and selfish. Grant is the dream, he's caring, loyal and supportive. Sadly this story isn't one I'll listen to again.

Beautifully narrated

Wild for You is a sweet, slow burn, inter-connected standalone. I was enthralled from the beginning and enjoyed every minute of it. It was sweet, funny at times, and emotional. Perhaps my favourite book in the Hot Jocks series so far.

This was such a sweet story. After the last book, I had a feeling about the direction this book would take as I’m sure most readers/ listeners did. I was curious to see how it would play out and be handled. And I have to say that the sensitive subject was handled with care.

There is a key message in this story that I loved, I don’t want to go into detail due to spoilers but anyone that knows my personally will probably understand the message I mean.

The only issue I really had was that there looked like a subplot was going to happen but nothing ever did. It felt to me that it was there to get the reader wondering without ever giving it life. Or an explanation.

Can we just take a moment to bask in Grant’s amazingness? I don’t even care if that’s a word or not. He is everything you’d expect from a good guy. He’s alpha but not over the top, he takes Ana’s needs into consideration, he backs off when he needs to, but, he also doesn’t sacrifice his own needs. He’s supportive and sweet...in his own grumpy way. He didn’t rush anything. He handles Ana with care without using kid gloves. And his interaction with the dog are just swoon inducing. He was everything I didn’t know I needed in my book life at the moment.

Joe Arden was fabulous as Grant, he really embodied the character. You believed what he was selling, so to speak. He delivered the dialogue in such a way that you couldn’t help but sigh at times. The vulnerability mixed with the alpha attitude was so uniquely Joe, that you couldn’t imagine anyone else performing the part.
Virginia Rose was wonderful as Ana, she performed a difficult subject with such sensitivity that you could just get lost in the feelings of the character. It was raw and beautiful. And how the performance changed as the character grew and progressed was just beautiful.

FANTASTIC FAST PACE

Here we have another great episode of the Hot Jocks series. Here we see how caring & protective Grant the team's captain really is, when he's there to help Ana whose the girlfriend of 1 of his team mate Jason, though he doesn't really like our respect him, but it's after hearing the way he spoke & acted to his girlfriend Ana..
We see how their lives turnaround in a blink of an eye when Ana asks for his help & things don't even stop there when a cctv post got out into the media, which makes Grant even more protective against Ana. & don't forget that she's really a stranger to him & vice versa.
They become closer in their short time of living together, even after she moves out he's still there for her.
This is such a beautiful hea of the joining of 2 💕

Joe Arden & Virginia Rose were great Narrators

It was an ok read

I love Kendall’s books but this one for me is sadly not a favourite, although it was a good read i felt it lacked something between the two main characters. I think there was only maybe 3 times in the book that they where intimate together in that way and the book took a more serious tone dealing with domestic violence issues. There didn’t seem to be any passion between them, no push and pull. Grant is amazing but Ana I couldn’t connect with.

No.1 series

Grant had my attention from the start, a character that you can’t help but fall in love with.
Ana is adorable and you can’t wait to to listen to there story all over again once you complete.

Kendall has the ability to create books that have a sparkle, that are never too long so don’t get you frustrated. She has written a story series that you find yourself re reading and re reading, and fall in love with all our hero’s and heroine.

If you haven’t read this series, heck read all of Kendall’s books you won’t be disappointed
