Publisher's Summary

Scholar and award-winning author Faith Fitzgerald has every reason to be happy: a wealthy, charming man who adores her and a family cheering her marriage prospects. But from the moment she meets Eric's sister, Sydney Van Allen, she knows her safe, predictable feelings for him are a shadow of what could be.

Openly lesbian and running for senator, Sydney can only succeed if she can live down her wild past. That means no liaisons, especially with the achingly alluring woman on her brother's arm who looks at her with confusion - and desire.

Good read

Great character development, with a good amount of Med evil history woven in. Brother Eric is a bit too good to be believable. Narration a plus. Abby Craden is the only narrator I know that can make an alcoholic’s desire for a drink sound sexy.

Historical filler with decent characters

It’s not a very long story so be prepared for about half of the book to be a history lesson of various notable women not directly connected to the main storyline. The main characters are decent and the depiction of the catholic faith is harsh but not far from actual doctrine. Abby Craden, as always, a pleasant narrator.

Don’t waste your time

Abby Craden as always did an amazing performance.
The book was horrible and maybe only a very small portion about Sydney and Faith. It was more of a history lesson and the story was all over the place.

Good story

The religious curve was angrily amazing. You hit it right on the nail. I have had religion thrown In my face and the sins of my ways so many times. I have been disowned and left behind. Ty for showing it and writing it and I believe you were so close to truth

Still one of my favorite stories by KK

I love the story of Sydney and Faith. I think anyone can relate to their story in one way or another. And getting to the scene that the updated cover is based on was such a delight for me! It's perfect. I wish their story was longer.

An excellent book that hits right home for so many!

This book hit me so close at home.. it showed all the conflicting feelings, turmoils, emotions & suffering with one’s true feelings, identity & religious beliefs!
I have been there, & somehow I’m still suffering conflicting emotions & thoughts about the matter.. yet, it helps to know that so many people coming from the same backgrounds are suffering the same!

Well done!! I hope that there are more books dealing with such conflicts & covering the rest of the faiths & racial backgrounds!

Good and timely story

Interesting characters, and timely story set in a backdrop of modern LBGTQ struggle around being “fit for political office”.

Intertwines religious based self hatred and a women coming out later than many do.

Great narration of a very good story.

short but very sweet

Loved this Kallmaker/Craden combination, and will listen to it again I'm sure.

I really appreciated the one main character's process of coming to terms with her sexuality, and the struggle to reconcile it with her Christian faith.
I am not a Christian, but the way it was handled in this story, touched me and made me think.

High Praise

I absolutely loved this book. Kallmaker gifts us both a historical fiction and a contemporary romance in one book. She weaves characters from the past through the writing of her main character. The romance that blossoms between the two main female characters is a delight. As lesbian readers we are so often starved of sex scenes and happy endings and Wild Things doesn’t let us down on both fronts.

Finished really quickly

This was lining up to be a lovely book but it ended too quickly than I would have liked
