Publisher's Summary

From New York Times best-selling author, JB Salsbury, comes an angsty new romance with a bossy hero and woman who was born to survive.

To me, he was Grizzly.
To the world, I would learn, he’s someone else completely.

I should have died on that mountain.
But he rescued me.

More animal than man, he’s cold, distant, and fiercely territorial. He seems to hate me for simply breathing, and yet, he brought me back to life.

After my return to the city, I can’t stop thinking about him. His rough hands, intense glare, and the way he cared for me as if I meant something to him.

He tells me he’s dangerous. That I’m not safe around him. I would eventually understand why he warned me away. But by then it’s too late. My heart is his.

Wild ride with a fun plot twist!

Wow...Wild North is the first book I've listened to from J.B. Salsbury, and it will not be the last. I loved everything about this rugged, adventurous, steamy story! I was hooked and captivated right fro the start.

Jordan Wilder wanted to go on a camping trip in order to reconnect with her boyfriend. What she didn't expect to find was he was actually cheating on her. With a crazy turn of events Jordan finds herself lost in the woods and injured. She is rescued by her Grizzly. Alexander North is a rugged, handsome loner living in a secluded cabin, who reluctantly rescues Jordan. When these two get together their chemistry is undeniable and so HOT! However, this is only the beginning..

Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels narrate this audiobook and give awesome performances. Samantha really captures Jordan's sassy, curious, and determined personality perfectly. Her lower register with Grizzly's (Alexander's) voice was all kinds of growly goodness. Lee Samuels is a new to me narrator, and I really enoyed his performance of Alexander. He conveyed Alexander's awkward, dominant personality so well!

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I look forward to finding out more about the rest of the North Brothers soon!

Couldn’t stop listening

This book is intense, opposites attract and I loved every minute.
After falling off a cliff Jordan is rescued by Alexander who nurses her back to health.
He’s a troubled soul who keeps her at arms length until he can’t anymore
When they return to New York and part ways until he can’t anymore.
While he holds secrets their journey is beautiful while Jordan tries to bring normal to his life.
The narrators do a great job, he really brings the gruff to Alexander.

I don't know

First of all, the narration. Great male narrator. The female narrator did a good job for the most part, but I didn't like the voice she used for the main male character. Next... Um, I had mixed feelings about the main male character. I guess his weird anti-social behavior led me to be a bit worried for their happily ever after, and is he a bit autistic? Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the plot twist halfway through. I like the grumpy man, rural small town outdoorsy books and this changed up a lot.

Great Big NOPE.

It started off well. but by the time the very toxic and pure hateful H was introduced i lost interest. i'm not sure why people find this personality DEFECT appealing. it would be one thing if it was a misunderstanding but this guy is awful for no reason. the author did a very poor job making him interesting enough to see why he is so awful. I have been around real life people like this (who were not autistic) and it never ended well. they're like wasps in human form. aggressive, assumptive, and very spiteful for no reason. he even says the very fact that she was breathing irritated him. she was obnoxiously asking questions...? mind you they were very important questions anyone would have asked - and he refused to answer.. yeah no. that's a very BAD step in the wrong direction for any kind of relationship.. they never have a reason to lash out, they just do it because they have a defective personality (starts with an N...). and to make that kind of person a love interest? to put that person in the role of nurturing caregiver to someone who is badly injured, disoriented and traumatized? to trap that injured person in a small wooden box with a human yellowjacket?
all i could think was "screw this guy, i'd have limped my broken self out of their." (i've been injured like this before.. i had to limp my way out because there was no one to save me. don't tell me i can't do it!)

yes yes it's supposed to be fictional entertainment or whatever. but all it did for me was bring back VERY bad memories and personal experience that had me turning it off before their oatmeal was even cool. (he didn't even want to share that either, didn't even bring her more water and he's some how an expert on survival?? what a mutt!)
sad.... it was not what i'd thought it would be.

Loved it!

Loved the writing and story grabbed my attention from the start. Enjoyed the way the gruff and grumpy Alexander and optimistic Jordan interacted and fit together. Listened to Wild North on audio and the narrators were excellent. Eager for the next book in the series!

4.5 I need more North stars

Book 1 in the North Brothers saga, and having just finished it, I need more. These sullen, troubled brothers are so entertaining, and I think JB started with the best brother of all. Alexander, he doesn’t taking any messing. He doesn’t pander to the needs of others, and he is the grouchiest, grumpiest man I’ve ever met. When he saves Jordan from a fall in extreme weather conditions they’re left stranded with only each other for company. Not the best situation for Mr Grumpy Pants. Lots of drama, and lots of sexy time. I love billionaires who think they’re hearts are invincible. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the writing and the narration, both Lee Samuels and Samantha Brentwood are new narrators to me, and I loved them. I’m going to have to wait and hope that book 2, Rebel North, comes out on audio very soon.

Grumpy Grizzly

This is my first experience of this author’s work and I was hooked from the first chapter. Jordan is in need of rescuing and Grizzly (Alexander) is the reluctant hero. These two have snarks and spark together—Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels add so much life to these characters. I loved the tension in the story and the change from their cabin refuge to the city. I loved watching Jordan see Alexander’s brilliance, while he remains Grizzly to her, and seeing her past meet her future. I am definitely going to follow the rest of the series!

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.

Get ready for a Wild ride!

This book came recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint. I was hooked from the beginning to the very end. I expected to lose interest but I readily devoured every single word.
The connection between the characters was initially slow but the chemistry and steam ramped up. I love the transition from the remote log cabin to city life.
Jordan is my new #girlcrush and EVERYTHING I love about a heroine. She is strong, resilient, kind-hearted and never settled for less than she deserved.
But it was the grumpy Grizzly Alexander who stole my heart. After reading so many “ forced proximity” romance novels way back in my teens, this was nostalgia and yet still something entirely in a league of its own.
The pace of the story was fast and I got through a 10 hour-ish audiobook in a day without taking a break. The definition of unputdownable.
Get ready for a WILD and unforgettable ride. Wild North is the first book I’ve read by this author and it’s going in my top reads for 2021!
I’m usually sceptical about new narrators but this book was narrated so incredibly well as they captured the emotions and intensity of this story.

3 stars mostly decent listen

I liked listening to this on the whole. It lost its momentum halfway through and never really got it back again. I didn’t feel invested by the end, and it didn’t grab me by the heart enough to overcome the issues I had with the heroine’s pushover character, the hero’s background and choices. I know some readers will have huge issues with some of the history and violent tendencies, and romanticising the whole situation. But on the whole, it was still worth a listen.

It was one of those stories that sucks you in and holds you tight. And you just wish you were the one bitten.😉😉 What an amazing combo of characteristic’s Alexandre has!! 🔥🔥🔥 I don’t want to give to much away but dang he is a couple of great fantasies all rolled into one- grrr!
Really, so worth the listen!
I’m so excited that this is just the beginning and there’s more in this series to come. There are fascinating supporting characters in this story, that have me intrigued on what could possibly come next! 🤔🔥
