Ivy Morgan is happy with who she is, and what she can do. She certainly doesn't need to second guess her life, or her witchy ways... that is, until Shadow Lake's newest police detective enters her life.

Jack Harker is haunted by a past he refuses to talk about, and he's not looking forward to a future with anyone - especially a sassy witch with boundary issues.

Jack and Ivy find their paths crossing on a regular basis when a dead body is discovered on the edge of Ivy's property. Jack doesn't want any romantic entanglements, but there's just something about Ivy that keeps drawing him in.

When the truth is finally revealed, Jack has to decide what he believes - and he has to do it before a murderer turns his attention to Ivy.

Can Ivy heal Jack's wounds? Will she even get a chance to try?

I was looking for something light & easy. Was surprised how quickly the characters charmed me. The story was a bit predictable. But the characters more than made it worth the listen. The narrator was also surprisingly quircky & charming with the different voices she used. Over all a lovely surprise

While I like steamy romances and this wasn’t that, what was great about it was how the main characters acknowledged what they were feeling, talked about it, and didn’t do the annoying misunderstanding of situations or intentions or being totally oblivious.
The narrator was a problem. She can do voices, but couldn’t add emotional inflection to the voices. The “riled up” person sounded detached and clinical. The concerned person spoke in the same loud voice he used for every other utterance.

Fun story, didn’t like the narrator

Enjoyed the story line but the narration was terrible. Male voices were awful. Too bad.
