For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Publisher's summary
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson, read by Tony Roberts and Karen Ziemba, with an introduction read by Kenneth Blanchard.
Who Moved My Cheese? is a simple parable that reveals profound truths. It is the amusing and enlightening story of four characters who live in a maze and look for cheese to nourish them and make them happy. Cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life, for example a good job, a loving relationship, money or possessions, health or spiritual peace of mind. The maze is where you look for what you want, perhaps the organisation you work in, or the family or community you live in. The problem is that the cheese keeps moving.
In the story, the characters are faced with unexpected change in their search for the cheese. One of them eventually deals with change successfully and writes what he has learned on the maze walls for you to discover. You'll learn how to anticipate, adapt to and enjoy change and be ready to change quickly whenever you need to.
Discover the secret of the writing on the wall for yourself and enjoy less stress and more success in your work and life. Written for all ages, this story takes less than an hour to read, but its unique insights will last a lifetime.

Good book on adapting to change!
This book was a good one, incorporating a story which always makes things interesting.
The story, the discussion that followed, and the afterword by the author helped me to appreciate the importance of having a mindset that is willing to adapt to change and to sense changes in seasons and move with them rather than becoming left behind.

Really the most impressive, digestible little book
This is a most interesting read. Playful, easy to understand, yet the concepts are complex and educated.
There are easily more than 100 principles one could pick up, it felt like after every second sentence.
Anyone who is a business owner, entrepreneur, running for president, a parent, anyone really can pick up this book and benefit a great deal.
Thanks Dr. Spencer for a succinct ensemble.

Okay
I read this book 15+ years ago, it was a refreshing read then. As a 'scurry' and a self-confessed change junkie, I've moved forward from this book and l understand the stress that it causes on those reluctant to change.
As a short read it is worth a credit as it simplifies the complexity of change.

Accurate but old now
I think this book was brilliant at the time of publication, I agree with everything in it but it feels old, obvious and not very good value for money in 2020. The basic lesson is learn to change because if you don't you'll get left behind, in the 1970s this was probably radical thinking but I think most of us in the working world know this by now.

Why did I wait so long!!??
I've had this book recommended to me so many times! Yet for some reason I never quite got around to it. Oh how I wish I'd looked at audible before. This was my first audible purchase and it has not let me down.. however the next one has big footsteps to follow in. A very enlightening and interesting book which challenges mindset on a really simplistic yet not demeaning way. Really well written and if I'm honest the type of book that should be read by everyone!

A modern day Aesops Fable
I read this when I was a teenager and now I'm a teacher I'm going to use this to teach my students about putting meaning into their own narratives. This is a great allegory that individuals can get a lot of growth out of.

Story
A group of old school friends meet to catch up. They end up discussing the unexpected, unforeseen changes to their lives, and one friend offers to tell a story about adapting to change. The story he tells involves four characters, two mice named Sniff and Scurry, and two "Littlepeople" named Hem and Haw. All of them are in a maze, looking for cheese, which they need to survive. For the "Littlepeople", cheese also has a larger, metaphysical connotation in the sense that it also makes them happy - their Cheese is thus spelled with a capital C....

Story
Most people are fearful of change because they don't have any control over how or when it happens to them. Since change happens either to the individual or by the individual, Dr. Spencer Johnson uses a simple story to show that when it comes to living in a changing world, what matters most is your attitude. Exploring a simple way to take the fear and anxiety out of managing the future, Who Moved My Cheese? can help you discover how to anticipate, acknowledge, and accept change in order to have a positive impact on your job, your relationships, and every aspect of your life.

Story
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.
