Publisher's summary

Adventurers aren't born in a day, they're forged in the trials of the Mage Tower.

I never got used to my father’s oppressive rule in the Underworld. That’s why I decided to escape my fate as the future Demon Lord and reincarnate into the realm of Ria.

My plan? As Luc Vale, the mortal mage, I’ll live out a real life and become an adventurer.

But first, I must master this world’s new magic at the Tower Guild Academy. After forming a party with a gorgeous and clumsy woman, I learned that being human is nothing like I imagined.

Not only is my new smelly body weaker than I’m used to, I’ve also discovered the...distractions of carnal pleasure.

All is going according to plan until a danger emerges that threatens all of Ria. I should be strong enough to vanquish the Tower’s dark secret.

As long as no one discovers who I truly am.

If you like light-hearted romance, quirky humor, and a dash of adventure, this story is for you. Great for anime weebs who enjoy shows like How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord.

(Contains unconventional relationships and adult situations.)

Fun and adventurous

The detail and general humor of this book surprised me. I expected to enjoy it, like most of AK’s work, but this was refreshing and almost wistfully charming. Lots of detail and imagery that fully immersed me into the story. Definitely give this a chance

fun book

This is just a fun book to listen to and easy to finish. The one thing that could have made it better was if there was a guy and girl Narrator. Other than that, I have no complaints.

Not sure why the top review is so negative.

I loved the story and the characters all have a unique personality. The story and plot is akin to Japanese light novels which I'm pumped about. My only thought about the single star obvious biased review is the author pushed his buttons on social media or something similar. Can't wait for the next book.

Just what I needed

Story, characters, fantasy, violence and Demi girls, all wrapped in a short but entertaining story. I was able to listen to this in a single day at work, and I can't wait to start the next one.

Super good

Ok this book was excellent. It was funny, exciting, and at moments even touching. The relationship development was excellently done. The characters all have unique and believable personalities. I haven’t heard a ton by the narrator but she did a good job as well. Can’t wait for book 2!

This has nothing to do with anime.

I'm mentioning this because of the art and the "Great for anime weebs" line in the description.
For some people all this anime stuff is a big no-no and for that reason i'm here to clarify that this is just a YA fantasy book. There's no anime jargon thrown around or anything like that.

The narrator was great. A nice variety of voices for a bunch of different characters.

Enjoyable

Fun story with some decent challenges. The characters are really what make this enjoyable and the voice narration was quite nice and pleasant for all the characters.
