When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

Molly Harper brings her signature "clever humor, snark, silliness, and endearing protagonists" ( Booklist) to the charming small town of Lake Sackett, Georgia with the new Southern Eclectic series. Carl and Marianne were high school sweethearts, loving the way only teenagers can - with no thought to logic or pride, just a bone-headed, optimistic frenzy of unicorns and hormones. "Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

For most, a plane crash means the end of life. For Dusti Dawson, it's just the beginning...Dusti and her sister Batina survived the crash, thanks to a couple of brothers who are equal parts menacing and muscled. She'd be grateful...if they hadn't turned out to be delusional kidnappers, who believe Dusti's grandfather is some monstrous halfbreed creature bent on murder. Turns out Vampires, Lycans, and Gargoyles do exist - and they've been crossbreeding to form two hybrid races.

Publisher's Summary
In Molly Harper's witty new paranormal romance, a rare-book expert is delivering a package to Half-Moon Hollow when her plane goes down, and a sexy vampire comes to her rescue. He's clearly got ulterior motives, but does he want to date her...or devour her?
Delivering a rare book to a valued customer is definitely part of mild-mannered archivist Anna Whitfield's job description. You know what isn't? Protecting her precious cargo from midflight theft by the very pilot who is flying her to Half-Moon Hollow...while trying to appear as unappetizing as possible to the only other passenger, a vampire. Undead bookstore owner Jane Jameson could be waiting a very long time for her book. Possibly forever.
Fortunately, Anna's dashing fanged companion, Finn Palmeroy, helps her fend off the attack but not before their plane crash-lands in the forest hundreds of miles from civilization. Great, now she's stranded with a priceless tome and a rakish vampire whose bedtime is fast approaching. Why does everyone want this book so badly, anyway? Anna just wants to get it to Jane before Finn decides to turn her into dinner - or sweep her off her feet.
Okay, the second option is really tempting. But they're not out of the woods yet....

Another great adventure
this book is about a paranoid, germophobic book lover. She boards a small plane to take a rare old book to Jane Jameson in Half Moon Hollow. She wipes down the seats and vents to prevent germs and worried about the plane. There is another passenger who is a vampire aboard also. When the pilot breaks the controls on the plane and threatens Anna to get the book she refuses. The plane is going down and while she banters with the pilot the vampire, Finn just sits there and does nothing. Finally he does help and the pilot jumps out and leaves them with the plane going down. Anna wants to strap in and brace for the crash but Finn has other ideas and grabs her and jumps out of the plane. Now they are lost in the wilderness with no working phones etc. Will they get out alive? Will Jane get her book or will someone else take it.
I love this series and this book did not disappoint.

For it's genre, this is a cute, sexy, fast read that doesn't overdo the vampire element. It cured me, for now anyway, of hating all thing vampire. I recommend it as 4 stars if you like snarky humor with silly paranormal backdrops. It was just what I needed at the moment.

3rd time is two too many - get over it already!
Starting to get annoyed with beautiful, charming female characters who carry around so many "Mommy Issues." This has to be at least the third book Ms Harper has written with this same story line and that's two too many. Having an opossum appear in every story is funny; having your main character thinking about all of the ways their mother has warped them isn't.

Another Awesome Story and Adventure!
Molly does it again! She is such an accomplished writer whose story's are not just entertaining but well balanced with the perfect mix of adventure, romance and humor. Each story is unique, and the romance between the H/h is always sweet and sexy.
Where the Wild Things Bite is another well written, captivating plot with great characters. Anna's has a lot of fears, she a germ-phobic, anxiety prone, fears flying, loves statics, socially challenged, and hysterically babbles when she's nervous. It's amazing she even agreed to fly to Half Moon Hallow to deliver the rare book to Jane Jameson. However, she is dedicated and determine to see the book is safely delivered. Her plans for a safe quick trip go haywire, when she is sky high, and the pilot's attempt to steal the book is foiled, and he parachutes out the plan leaving her, and her annoying passenger to fend for themselves.
Luckily or not so lucky, the other passenger is a vampire named Finn whose handsome, smart, charismatic, and has stunning chocolate eyes. He takes matters into his on hands and saves Anna by jumping off the plan, and nearly gives her a heart attack in the process. They find themselves stranded in the wilderness, and this is where their wild adventure begins. I LOVED this story, and characters! It was AWESOME!
Amanda Ronconi's performance ROCKS! She always does a fantastic job on the characters, and emotions. I especially loved how she delivered all the sassy, snarky dialogue. Kudos Amanda on another awesome performance!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really. The storyline as very predictable and very similar to previous plots in this series
Has Where the Wild Things Bite put you off other books in this genre?
No
Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Excellent performance as usual
Do you think Where the Wild Things Bite needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes definitely to add more depth to the characters

A little disappointing, compared to previous book.
I love Molly Harper, I particularly love her audiobooks. Amanda Ronconi has a way getting across the Molly’s natural snark and sense of humour characters.
Where The Wild Things Bite seemed to lack some of the previous books polish. Anna for me was a bit of a see-saw character one min I liked her the next I disliked her. For such an intelligent person she certainly took her time understanding what she needed to do.
This instalment also seemed to lack the hilarious banter between leading lady and leading gentleman, don’t get me wrong there was banter but if you compare it to Jane and Gabriel for example you’d find it lacking.
That being said I’d still recommend it, it’s a humorous read.

Another Good One by Molly Harper
As with all Molly Harper books this story is riddled with humour, not belly laughs but a definite smile. The female lead, Anna, is neurotic and Finn, is a roguish of a vampire who falls for our heroine. Jane Jameson Nightingale turns up about three quarters way though the story. Overall a good but not excellent listen. I will be buying the next in the series when it appears.

Excellant!
Any additional comments?
Really enjoyed this book! I loved the character of Anna, she was pretty awesome. Nice to see Finn find someone that accepts him for him and makes him genuinely want to be a better man! Can't wait for the next in this series!

Good, but not the best in the series.
I love this series and this book was another good installment, although by no means the best so far. I liked the characters but the story line was rather predictable and you could see what was coming way before it happened. There was also a serious continuity issue near the end which surprised me coming from this author. That said, this was still and enjoyable, light-hearted book which was easy to listen to and enjoy. Worth a listen.
