Eight years ago Tess and Jake were considered a power couple of the New York publishing world - happy, in love, planning a family. Failed fertility treatments and a heartbreaking attempt at adoption have fractured their marriage and left Tess edgy and adrift. A visit to friends in rural Vermont throws Tess' world into further chaos when she sees a young, half-dressed child in the middle of the road who then runs into the woods like a frightened deer.

The entire town begins searching for the little girl. But there are no sightings, no other witnesses, no reports of missing children. As local police and Jake point out, Tess' imagination has played her false before. And yet Tess is compelled to keep looking, not only to save the little girl she can't forget but to salvage her broken heart as well.

Blending T. Greenwood's trademark lyrical prose with a superbly crafted and suspenseful narrative, Where I Lost Her is a gripping, haunting novel from a remarkable storyteller.

The storyline to this book was so good. I love the details the author goes into. I will not be reading anything else by this author nor recommending it to anyone I know. I have never read a book with such disgusting language. Things do not need to be told in that way. It made my stomach sick sometimes to hear how they talk to each other. Hopefully women do not use language like that and talk to people in the way she did. You can write a wonderful book that can be recommended to everyone without using such vulgar, discussing and crude language. I forwarded through many pages so I did not have to read the words written on the page. But enjoyed the story and wanted to find out what happened to the little girl in the end.

Great Book disgusted by the language!!!

I thought that I would hate this book. The description seemed trite. But I never stopped listening! It is emotionally draining and wonderful at the same time. The actress ( She was awesome in the film version of "Who Killed Chandra Levy ") is stellar.

The writer dragged me in despite my not wanting to be ! And I am glad that she did.

Fans of all types will adore this book.
One of the best.

Best Voice Actress, Compelling Story

I am currently reading books about missing persons, usually children. These books are generally psychological thrillers. This story did not disappoint. The narrator was excellent at portraying the emotions and thoughts of the main character. I was pleased that my own interpretation of how the plot would progress was proved wrong a number of times.

Great story

Easy listen. Interesting and entertaining. Mid chapters 20, I thought it was struggling to keep moving forward, but that passed quickly. I had an idea of how it would end, and I was correct. But I didn't find that to be a "bad thing" with this storyline. I love the narrator, Christina Delaine. I actually looked for books she narrates and found this one. Overall, glad I did.

Storyline is predictable, but overall a good listen. I wish the author varied word choice a little more. Jacaranda must have been used 100 times. I have noticed this in other books by this author as well.

Would recommend to a friend.
