Jeri Wylder is a dedicated police officer doing her job, paying her way, and looking for Ms. Right, until a call at a drug house goes terribly wrong. My interest plummeted at the mention of the main character having salt and pepper hair and the narrator made her sound like a man. So now I can’t shake the image of an old butch lady. Gag

Slow start but a great read

Be patient with this book. It is definitely worth the read. The depth of the characters and Jeri’s reaction to the shooting is very realistic. And a happy ever after ending doesn’t hurt either.

This one was missing the mark...

I'm a fan of VK and the past books so it is hard for me to write this review. Was this a interesting story? Yes. Was the MC'S likeable? Umm some what. Was the audible a good match? In my opinion, no. Geri sounded like she was going to cry through the whole book. Certainly not the sexy officer I'm sure she was written to portray. I looked twice to see how much longer It had....not good.Maybe if I just read it and made up in my head my own voices it would be ok. And on a personal note...tTomi could have been left out completely.The scene just felt like cheating. VK is a fav and I will read future books for sure...but this not a fav.
